What are Ubisoft working on... A look at their studios

Ubisoft had another fairly quiet year in 2025, in terms of new games released, they did bring Assassin’s Creed Shadows to players early in the year and ended it with the return of Anno. Peppered in between all of there were updates to their live service offerings like Skull and Bones, The Division 2 and of course, For Honor.
Of course, the big news for this group in 2025 was that they named and started up Vantage Studios. This is the group that was formed with investment by Tencent, with the goal being to help offset costs for the main business. Vantage is still owned by Ubisoft, so it is more of a Jetstar to Qantas situation, rather than a full break away. That group will be responsible for Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six going forward, so will see how that shakes out over the next few years.
These are the games that were published in 2025, with those titles that are bolded being original releases:
BattleCore Arena - PC
Assassin's Creed Shadows - Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
The Rogue Prince of Persia - Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
Star Wars Outlaws - Nintendo Switch 2
Just Dance 2026 Edition - Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
Anno 117: Pax Romana - PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
Sadly, there were also some studio closures for this group as well, these are the studios that were closed in 2025:
Leamington
In addition to the closure of the Leamington studio, jobs were also cut from Ubisoft Dusseldorf, Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Stockholm and Red Storm Entertainment
If you are curious to see how we did in years past, you can find our 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2022 Previews here.
Ubisoft
ABU DHABI
Known for: Growtopia, NCIS: Hidden Crimes | Last game released: Clash of Beasts: Tower Defense
2025 was an odd year for this group, not only were they still working on Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. which is some NFT thing. The ‘game’ for lack of a better word, was not received well and was reportedly easily exploitable. Sadly, it seems that a number of the staff at the studio in November, but there were no public mentions of these lay offs from Ubisoft themselves. Given that this group are often given mobile games, if they have anything new, we won’t hear about it until its announced.
ANNECY
Known for: Steep | Last game released: Riders Republic
This group have made a few games over the years, but are best well known for Steep and its follow up Riders Republic, which is now celebrating 5 years and its 17th season of content. The studio has assisted Massive Entertainment over the years as well, with games like The Division 2 and Star Wars Outlaws. As for what is next from the studio, well I did find a a listing that mentioned a new AAA game, but there was nothing in it that gave hints as to what it is. Given it has been 5 years since Riders Republic shipped, it is possible that we get a tease for this new mystery game, but if not, expect just more seasons for Riders Republic.
BARCELONA MOBILE
Known for: Might & Magic: Elemental Guardians, Hungry Dragon | Last game released: Invincible: Guarding the Globe
2025 saw this group keep delivering content for their mobile games, along with supporting Rainbow Six Siege content, just like they have been doing for years now. I found a few jobs for the group, most of which are for Siege still, which leads me to believe that they don’t have much else to offer in 2026. As a mobile focused studio, they could surprise us with a game out of nowhere, but I doubt that will be the case.
BELGRADE
Known for: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon DLC, Riders Republic DLC | Last game released: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint
Belgrade is a support studio, they developed much of the DLC for the recent Ghost Recon games and have been assisting Annecy with content for Riders Republic. 2025 saw the studio assist with the development for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, to what extent though I could not say. Now normally I would just say that we will see their name in some game across the year and call it a day, but there is something else going on. I found a reference to an unannounced game coming from the studio, details are light, and given they had done work on countless series over the years, I could not even begin to guess at what they are working on next.
BERLIN
Last year saw the Berlin team work on Rainbow Six Siege and Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, helping to deliver content for both games. Which is normal as they are often considered a support studio for Ubisoft, working where needed, but they could be up to something more. I did find a mention that the studio is working on a new multiplayer aspect to a major IP. That is all I have and there is no word on if this group are the lead developers or just assisting one of the other studios, which is more likely. Either way, we could see their name in the credits as more than just support in the future.
BORDEAUX
Known for: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC | Last game released: Assassin's Creed Mirage
After working on Mirage, many thought that the game was done, but Ubisoft surprised everyone when they released Valley of Memory for free to players in November 2025. The expansion put players into a new mission before the final mission, but it also gave the developers a chance to overhaul much of the gameplay, based on player feedback. The studio proved their Assassin’s Creed pedigree again in 2025 as they worked on both Shadows and the expansion Claws of Awaji.
The studio is still reported to be working on Beyond Good and Evil 2, along with Ubisoft Connect and LaForge. If you don’t know that last one, it is more of a tech hub where different Ubisoft teams come together to create new tools and systems, to allow other developers to create new things. Some of their innovations are incredibly complex, but very cool. Given they just worked on two expansions last year and have almost 400 staff, I would imagine they have something new cooking, but I doubt we see it this year.
BUCHAREST
One of the many Ubisoft support studios, the Bucharest team work on a number of projects at a time, they are most known for supporting Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. One of the things the team also do is work on Snowdrop, which is the engine that powers games like The Division, Avatar and Star Wars. Given their supportive nature, I expect we will see their name on a few things across the year, but I know we will see their name in the credits of Rainbow Six Siege Mobile, as they have been assisting on that, beyond that is a mystery.
China Studios
Locations: Chengdu, China | Shanghai, China
The two China studios sort of work together now, sharing ideas and resources, but whilst still doing their own thing from time to time. Both studios have been working on Rainbow Six Siege Mobile, but there is more going on. While they have made console games in the past, they are known to work on mobile games as well. Shanghai has open roles for a casual party game, which the descriptions indicate its for mobile, which to me likely means either a port of Rabbids: Party of Legends, or a mobile sequel. Chengdu has a few open roles as well, but only one of them is listed against an unannounced project, another is for Assassin’s Creed. I suspect the studio has a lot more going on that what I could find, so for now it is just a matter of waiting to discover what.
DA NANG
Known for: Rabbids: Legends of the Multiverse | Last game released: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for mobile
The Da Nang team started out making basically airplane games, but have since become a studio that helps make proper games. Last year saw them release Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on iOS and Android devices, which did get a lot of attention for the details that the port got right. With the team focusing more on mobile games, I don’t expect to see them on anything else and for a strange twist, they are not credited on Rainbow Six Siege Mobile, maybe they are working on The Division Resurgence instead. Honestly who knows at this point, I expect to see their name on something this year though.
DÜSSELDORF
Known for: ANNO, The Settlers | Last game released: Rainbow Six Siege X
This is one of those studios that works on everything from their original series of ANNO and The Settlers, to co-dev work on games like Rainbow Six Siege and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The studio helped update Rainbow Six Siege in celebration of the 10th anniversary last year and their only open role that I could find, is for finance. Given they have a few hundred folks there, they are likely working on something new, The Settlers is the likely scenario, but only time will tell.
HALIFAX
I did have a nice portion written here, but Ubisoft revealed they were closing the studio down. As this happened in early 2026, it does not count for the list of closed at the top. Thoughts go out to all impacted, hopefully they can all land on their feet soon. The studios only major work for years was Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, but they were also supporting Rainbow Six Siege Mobile.
IVORY TOWER
Known for: The Crew | Last game released: The Crew Motorfest
They have been making The Crew games for years now and Season 8 of The Crew Motorfest released just recently. 2025 also saw The Crew 2 get its long promised offline mode, which will let player keep enjoying the world long after the servers are turned off.
As for 2026, The Crew Motorfest will keep going as the third year of content will go until October, and beyond the new seasons, I don’t think much will change beyond that. It is always possible that they bring the game to more platforms, but honestly, I think these guys are set and won’t drive onto another road anytime soon.
KYIV
The Kyiv studio mostly focuses on content for Rainbow Six Siege, their open roles are all about the game as well and if that was not enough, they are one of the studios working on Rainbow Six Siege Mobile. Given their connect to the series, anyone who plays the game this year will see their name, but beyond that, I don’t think they will stand out in 2026.
MAINZ
Known for: Anno 1800 Console Edition | Last game released: Anno 117: Pax Romana
Last year saw this group release Anno 117: Pax Romana, the latest entry in the series and a pretty good one in our book. The studio got some updates out post release to fix issues that some players reported and another one is planned for the end of January 2026. Outside of them supporting other studios, they are likely going to be all in on updates, fixes and the Year 1 content, which includes 3 ideally fairly large DLCs.
MILAN
Known for: Mario + Rabbids | Last game released: Star Wars Outlaws
The Milan studio gained attention when they helped make the second Mario + Rabbids game a game and after that released, they worked on the DLC for. Once Rayman joined the adventure, they went to work with Massive Entertainment on Star Wars Outlaws. Since then they were reported to have worked on the From the Ashes DLC for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but that is all we can find. They don’t have any open roles, so I would wager for now they are just going to be supporting whatever games they get assigned.
MONTPELLIER
Known for: Rayman, Rabbids | Last game released: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
After making an amazing game in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, the Montpellier studio only had one other project that we knew about, a little title called Beyond Good & Evil 2 and what a surprise, there has been nothing on that for another year. The studio has a number of open roles for it, nowhere near as many as they have had in years past, but still. Hidden amongst all that was another job, for an unannounced game, the details of which make me hope for more Prince of Persia, but it could be Rayman, the character did turn 30 in 2025. Of course, whatever it is, if it releases before BG&E2, I think people might be upset enough to just wipe the game out and move on, it has been 8 years since it was last seen and almost 20 since it was first announced.
MUMBAI
Mostly a QA studio, it is unlikely the team will have their own game in 2026, but we should still see their name in the credits of a few releases.
NADEO
Known for: Trackmania | Last game released: Trackmania
These guys make Trackmania and honestly nothing else. They have no open roles that I could find, so its unlikely they have something else in the works, but as Trackmania is still going strong, I can’t see them stopping on that. The day before we published this, they did reveal that the game was joining the Esports World Cup for 2026, you can read about that here, so there is clearly a long road ahead for this one.
ODESA
A much smaller team than we have seen from Ubisoft, they support other studios in the Ukraine region and provide quality assurance where needed, as such they don’t have any games in development.
PARIS
Known for: Just Dance, Ghost Recon | Last game released: Just Dance 2026 Edition
Last year saw the team release Just Dance, as they did the year before and the year before and the year before, you see where this is going. The studio is currently working on Beyond Good & Evil 2, just like a lot of studios and while there will always be a core Just Dance team, that is their largest project. Right now, all of their open roles are more generic in description, usually meaning non-developmental roles and that is fine. Unless we get a big reveal on Beyond Good & Evil 2 sometime this year, the next time we hear from these guys will be when Just Dance 2027 Edition is announced.
PARIS MOBILE
Known for: Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, Might and Magic : Chess Royale | Last game released: Mighty Quest Rogue Palace
Paris Mobile has been working on The Division Resurgence for years now and after vanishing for a while, they finally popped back up in September with an update and then again in November. The November update was big, as it was just ahead of another playtest period. A post just before the holiday break did provide an idea that some stuff would happen in the early parts of 2026, but with Rainbow Six Siege Mobile launching in February, I can’t see Ubisoft doing two mobile games at the same time. For now, I expect them to slowly start to build up details about their release plans.
PHILIPPINES
This location is more of a sister studio to Singapore, so whatever they work on, these guys work on. They do also provide support to other titles, which is how they have worked on titles like Assassin's Creed Mirage, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, For Honor, Skull & Bones, The Crew 2 and last years Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Given their supportive nature I expect we might see their name in a few games this year, the only question will be for what.
PUNE
Pune is one of the locations that is sort of all over the place, they are a developer, but also a QA studio, Mumbai is more so, but these guys do some as well. The studio is more of a mobile developer these days, which is why they have been working on Rainbow Six Siege Mobile. Given their hybrid nature of dev and support, they will pop up a lot across the year, on what is the big question.
REDLYNX
Known for: Trials | Last game released: Star Wars Outlaws
2025 was a year of ups and downs for Redlynx, the big up was that they brought Star Wars Outlaws to Nintendo Switch 2 and did a pretty damn good job doing so. But soon after it released, the studio was hit with the news that they would be restructured, in order to focus on smaller screens, ie mobile devices. This refocusing, as Ubisoft call it, resulted with a number of folks being let go from the studio. We know the studio has been working on Rainbow Six Siege Mobile, just like everyone it seems, but I did find references to an unannounced mobile game. Given the studios history with the Trials series, odds are good it might be that, but they have also made other games in the past, so who really knows.
REFLECTIONS
Known for: Driver | Last game released: The Settles: New Allies
Reflections is in an odd place, as they worked in tandem with the Leamington studio, but that was closed last year. The group were known for making their own games once upon a time, but have largely been downgraded to a support studio. Right now, they have a few open roles and as you might expect, many of them are for Rainbow Six. Given that they have not released their own game since 2017, the IP that it was ended up being sold to Atari last year, I don’t think there will be much from this group in 2026.
SINGAPORE
Known for: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms | Last game released: Skull and Bones
Skull and Bones has been making waves for a while now, the game has its fans and the developers are releasing seasons fairly regularly, in fact Year 2, Season 4 is being teased now. The studio has a few open roles, mostly for Skull and Bones, so it is unlikely that they have anything more to share, but there is always the chance to be surprised.
STOCKHOLM
If you go back and read our 2025 Preview for Ubisoft and find the Stockholm section, honestly nothing has changed in the past 12 months. Their website still looks the same as it did this time last year, they have no open jobs and whatever this mystery IP is, is still a complete mystery. Well maybe not, last year I was able to suss out that it was open world and multiplayer in nature, this year I was able to find out its being classed as an AAA title. Does this mean we are getting a new Blazing Angles, or what about a third game in the Zombi series? Honestly, I don’t know, but whatever they are working on really needs to be revealed, as this is the 5th year in a row without any details.
TORONTO
Known for: Watch_Dogs, Far Cry, Starlink Battle for Atlas | Last game released: Far Cry 6
2021 was the last time this studio were the lead on a game, since then they have been supporting other studios with games like Star Wars Outlaws and the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. The problem is, we are now 4 years since it was announced and apart from some concept art, we have seen nothing. The game itself is on the front screen of the studios website, so they clearly think it is happening, we just don’t have any proof of that.
In 2022 the games director left the studio, which put a fair bit of suspicion on the games chances of a release, but then in December last year, not even 2 months ago, as of this publishing date, they came back. Turns out they went to EA to make a new Battlefield single player game and when EA shut the studio down, he went back to Ubisoft. Honestly, this is one of those games that Ubisoft need to either come out and say it is still happening, or tell us it is dead. In our 2025 Missing in Action report, there are 8 Ubisoft games that had been announced but had been silent for a while and this is one of them, it is a recurring entry.
RED STORM ENTERTAINMENT
Known for: Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Assassin’s Creed VR | Last game released: Assassin's Creed Nexus VR
After getting a game cancelled in 2024 and then having a lot of folks laid off because of that, the studio was again hit with layoffs in 2025. They have not had a great run over the past few years, with games cancelled before release or cancelled after release. Right now, the studio is a total wildcard, their careers page is just MIA, the link is there, but the page is not. Given they have laid off a lot of folks over the past few years, that is not surprising, but still it is sad to see such an important studio to Ubisoft being absolutely shafted.
OWLIENT
Known for: Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad | Last game released: Howrse
Another year, another blurb where we talk about how Howrse is still going strong, 20 years now and the game is showing no signs of slowing down. Just like last year, they use Facebook to talk to their players, so if you want to see what the goss is for this one, head over there. Given that their official website just no longer exists, I suspect they are not going to venture out from their stable anytime soon.
MASSIVE ENTERTAINMENT
Known for: The Division, Star Wars Outlaws | Last game released: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes
Last year I said this “While they do have a job open for Avatar, it is unlikely that series is getting any more content, though they do call it a live game, so who knows.“ Turns out I was sort of right and not at the same time. For most of the year there was nothing talked about for the game, and then just a few months before the latest movie released, they announced a new expansion, From the Ashes. The studio did some Star Wars Outlaws updates at the start of the year and of course, brought quite a bit of content to The Division 2 across the year, but all eyes are on what is next.
The Division 3 is coming and that is all we know about it. The studios page for the game states they are hiring for it and last year that was true, but given they just announced layoffs at the studio, I don’t know how true that is any more. We are now over 3 years since the game was announced and while we have not seen it, many fans think some of the changes to The Division 2 are tests for the new game. While they are not working on it, The Division Resurgence will likely have pulled some knowledge from this studio. For now, having done a few big games back to back, along with some pretty large expansion, I expect the studio will go quiet as they work on The Division 3, with other studios supporting The Division 2 for a while longer.
KOLIBRI GAMES
Known for: Idle Tycoon series | Last game released: Idle Bank Tycoon: Money Game
Another year, another batch of updates for their various mobile games. Their only open roles are all again for mobile specific functions, which makes sense given what they make. Unless the studio is going to really change their approach to anything, I doubt there will be news in 2026.
KETCHAPP
Known for: Many | Last game released: Rider Worlds
The studio spent most of 2025 releasing updates for Rider Worlds and Rider - Stunt Bike Racing, and just the night before we published this entry Knife Hit App got updated. While they have some open roles, none of them are breaking any ground from what we have seen before, so expect more mobile games and updates to existing ones.
GREEN PANDA GAMES
Known for: Many | Last game released: Unknown
We are three for three in mobile game makes who spent the year updating their existing games and that is pretty much it. They have no open roles, so don’t expect them to do anything different in 2026.
BLUE MAMMOTH GAMES
Known for: Dungeon Blitz | Last game released: Brawlhalla
Last year saw Star Wars, Destiny2, Rayman and Attack on Titan come to the game, along with more original fighters and countless content updates and fixes. The studio already said a new character was coming this month and with the game almost 10 years of age, I don’t think they will change the pattern. The studio has no open roles, so just expect them to keep on keeping on, with a few surprises and new characters additions over the year.
1492 STUDIO
Known for: Is It Love? | Last game released: Is It Love? Scandals
Well what do you know, after 3 years of entries where I have said nothing happened, something finally happened. In May of 2025 their most recent game, Is It Love? Scandals, got an update. Sure it was fixes and balances, but an update is an update. There are no jobs for the studio, so I don’t think much more will happen, but honestly, who knows.
Vantage Studios
Barcelona
Known for: Your Shape | Last game released: Star Trek: Bridge Crew
The studio has been working on content for Rainbow Six Siege and now that they are apart of the Vantage Studios group, that is unlikely to change. They have a few open roles, most are just back of house sort of things, the only game development role is for Rainbow Six Siege, which sort of confirms they are not being let loose anytime soon.
Montréal
Known for: Prince of Persia, Rainbow Six | Last game released: Roller Champions
You are not reading that incorrectly, Roller Champions, a game that released back in 2022 was the last release from this studio and since then they have been overseeing content for games like Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor. 2025 saw the group move into the Vantage Studios family, which should give them more freedom to make new things, but more on that in a bit. We also got word last year that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is expected to release this year.
Now the studio is massive, roughly some 4,000 folks work there creating games and as such they have a lot going on. They are the lead studio on Rainbow Six Siege Mobile, which launches in just a few weeks and again Prince of Persia is still to come. But their job listings reveal so much more from the group, first up there are a number of jobs for Far Cry, which we have not seen since 2021, they also have listings for For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege, but those were expected. After a lengthy silence, Assassin’s Creed Invictus has popped up again with some job listings, nothing special in them, but nice to know it lives. There are also Assassin’s Creed jobs for Helix, which is that front end that launched with Shadows and a bunch of general listings, most likely for Hexe. The most interesting part are the jobs marked for ‘Unannounced IP’, one of them indicates experience needed for multiplayer and FPS, with games-as-a-service as well, but another talks about games story. The last game that tried to be all those things was Concord and we know how that went and even if they are for two different games, given XDefiant crashed and burnt pretty hard just last year, I can’t see Ubisoft or Vantage doubling back down again. 2026 should be a busy year for this group, more so because it has been years since they released a game and we know they have two on their way and potentially a lot more to follow.
Quebec
Known for: Assassin’s Creed, Immortals Fenyx Rising | Last game released: Assassin's Creed Shadows
With 2025 seeing Assassin’s Creed Shadows released from this group and then the Claws of Awaji expansion later in the year, odds of them having a new game this year are slim, but more content for Shadows is very likely. The studio has a few open roles for Assassin’s Creed, which could be for more post-release content for Shadows, or more likely, support on Assassin’s Creed Hexe, only time will tell. But in any event, after the Claws of Awaji expansion comes to Nintendo Switch 2, I don’t expect much major news from this group in 2026.
Saguenay
This time last year the studio was expected to release NFL Primetime Fantasy, a brand new mobile game and that never happened, the game just vanished. Well not entirely true, it did release but was killed off pretty quickly with the game shutting down in May, considering it was still in pre-registration last January, that is a short lived title. Beyond that game, the studio is just a support studio for others and as such we have no idea what they could be working on.
Sherbrooke
Another support studio, they focus more on technology side of things. Reports have put them as working on Assassin’s Creed going forward as a co-dev studio, so if true, then I imagine Hexe would be where their name is shown off.
Sofia
Known for: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC | Last game released: Assassin's Creed Mirage
Last year saw the Sofia group release the expansion for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and fixing up some of the gameplay issues at the same time. The studio has been pulled into Vantage, likely due to their long running Assassin’s Creed knowhow. Right now they have no open roles, so odds are they are just getting started on whatever is next, unless they are helping on Hexe or one of the other existing projects.
And there we go, Ubisoft and Vantage Studios. Two groups with a LOT of developers working there, will they deliver big games in 2026 or are they going for a quieter year? Only time will tell for this group sadly.
