Missing in Action - The 2025 Update

Missing in Action - The 2025 Update

For the third year in a row after last years entry and the 2023 inaugural year, we are back with our list of games that are Missing in Action. With showcase season finally done, we have wrapped up some of the games that we have not heard from in quite a while

There is really only one requirement for a game to end up on this list, the game must have been formally announced. usually this is via a trailer or it could be a single social post, but we just have not see anything from them in at least 12 months.

Like last year, there are a number of games from the list that either released, got news about or were cancelled. These are the games from the 2024 list that are no longer qualified for the 2025 list. We write this list over a period of weeks, as companies host their various showcase events and now with those done, we can reveal it in full.

Released:

Nothing to show, none of the games in last year’s list released.

Updated:

The Outer Worlds 2

Kingdom Hearts IV

Star Wars Zero Company (Formally known as Star Wars Strategy Game)

Silent Hill f

007: First Light (Formally known as Project 007)

Beasts of Reincarnation (Formally known as Project Bloom)

Wreckreation

Cancelled:

Wonder Woman Game

Transformers: Reactivate

Everwild

Perfect Dark

Right, that wraps up the changes from the 2024 list, so now it is time to take a look at the updated 2025 list. Just one note, we had planned to get this out back in June, but it seems everyone has been wanting to do their showcases in the weeks post Faux-E3, so we kept hoping and waiting on a few games to get updates. Right, enough of that, let’s go!

ARK 2

Revealed: Dec 2020 | Status: Returning | Developer: Studio Wildcard | Publisher: Studio Wildcard

Honestly, at this point I think the game is dead. It has been 4 years since it was first revealed and, in that time, we saw an extended version of that first trailer and nothing else. Post the faux-E3 an interview with the developers via PCGamesN basically confirmed that we are not going to see anything until 2027, which is bullshit.

Please don’t misunderstand, I am more than happy for a developer to take as much time as they need to make their game, more so if it means the people doing the work don’t have to do 60-hour weeks. But in that same interview the studio co-founders said this:

“The studio had a pretty cool vertical slice, but we felt that as a team, it would be very difficult to follow that all the way through to a complete game with both our experience level and [our scope] as a company. We put the vertical slice on hold a couple of years ago to make Ark Survival Ascended, and we've been only nibbling at it since then.”

If your game is too big for you to work on, I would suggest not making another version of your existing game in the meantime. Given the game is still years away from release, the odds of us getting anything soon on the game are slim to none, more so if they keep the bulk of the studio working on Survival Ascended.

Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe

Revealed: Sep 2022 | Status: Returning | Developer: Ubisoft | Publisher: Ubisoft

It has now been more than 2 years since this game was announced, but at the time it was the third game teased, after Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the recent Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Since that tease, there has been nothing formally revealed on the game, which does make sense given Ubisoft had two other titles to release first.

The game is expected to be set during the witch trials of the Roman Empire, which happened around 70 after the death of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, but details beyond that are not known. Now as for when we will hear about this one next, that is harder to gauge, due to Ubisoft splitting itself up. With the company moving Assassin’s Creed to another company, they might opt to delay revealing anything until they are 100% ready to, rather than rolling out a tease or two.

Assassin's Creed: Codename Invictus

Revealed: Sep 2022 | Status: New | Developer: Ubisoft | Publisher: Ubisoft

We know very little about the game above, but for this one there is even less. It was announced at the same time as Codename Hexe, but apart from its multiplayer nature, there was nothing else revealed. It was revealed that the game designer was attached in May 2024, but that was the last time we got any news about the game.

Honestly, given the multiplayer nature, it is unlikely to be a traditional game, but I would not be surprised to see characters from past games brought in. Given that the entire Assassin’s Creed series is built around the idea of a computer program reading genetic memories, having another program blend them together would make sense. Of course, they could surprise us and the game could be about creating your own brotherhood and fighting back against the Templars, we just have no way of knowing. Like the above game though, given that Assassin’s Creed will not be directly controlled by Ubisoft proper, there is no way of knowing when we will hear about it.

Assassin's Creed: Jade

Revealed: Sep 2022 | Status: New | Developer: Level Infinite | Publisher: Level Infinite

Three Assassin’s Creed games in one list and its not a top 10, what is going on? Well for this one, there is a little bit of mystery around it, as the game was expected to launch into a closed beta state back in August 2023 and then nothing. Since that date came and went, the game has done nothing. That is not hyperbole, the games official website has the last news story posted in August 2023, their official social channels were last updated in February 2024.

The game is apparently still happening but given it has been more than 2 years since we last saw anything official, the trailer below being the last time we saw it at all, I would question that. I did get to see some developer presentations about the game, and I was impressed with what the studio was doing, but as a mobile game it’s hard to track. There were reports in March of 2024 that the game was delayed until 2025, in order for Tencent to focus on games that are bloated with micro-transactions, but even that was never confirmed. For now, this one is a wait and see, because is currently the only known Assassin’s Creed game with a proper name and that has to mean something good right?

BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL 2

Revealed: Jun 2017 | Status: Returning | Developer: Ubisoft Montpellier | Publisher: Ubisoft

This is the third year we have done this list and this is the third time this game has appeared, also what does it say that 5 games in and 4 of them are Ubisoft titles? Since 2018, we have not been given any proper look at the game, the website was updated a bit post then, but only barely. In September 2020, Michel Ancel left Ubisoft entirely, which put another roadblock in the way of the games development.

Now normally I might offer some sort of scathing insight as to why the game is delayed again, but sadly this is one of those times when tragedy has impacted the game. In July 2023, the games creative director passed away suddenly and without that leadership, things were put on pause and out of respect for the man, they did not just throw someone into the role. In October of last year they did appoint a new creative director, which hopefully means things are back on track, we just have to wait and see.

BIOSHOCK 4

Revealed: Dec 2019 | Status: Returning | Developer: Cloud Chamber | Publisher: 2K

We are approaching 6 years since this game was announced and, in that time, we have seen nothing on the game. I am not saying that for effect or to try and drum up any sort of discourse, but it is a literal fact. Cloud Chamber was a newly announced studio, which was formed specifically to make this game, so I do give them a few years to get up to speed.

The problem is that at most 3 years is plenty and while they are staffing up and installing all the computers, they would have been working on the game. Now I am not asking for a full trailer tomorrow and a release date of next week, but just something to prove this game is still happening. Just days before we went to publish this years list, reporting came out from Jason Schreier that the game failed recent milestone tests, so that is likely going to delay this release even further, if it does not get cancelled outright.

Contraband

Revealed: Jun 2021 | Status: Returning | Developer: Avalanche | Publisher: Xbox Game Studios

We took this one off last year’s list as we had heard the developer was having some issues with it, but since then they denied those rumours, so back on it goes. Announced 4 years ago, outside of that reveal trailer there has not been a single piece of information released about the game.

What makes this addition even funnier is that on the developer’s official page, it does not even state Windows 11 is a supported platform, because when this was announced, Windows 11 did not exist, at least publicly. The games director, at least when it was announced, Omar Shakir has left the studio and now works for another developer, which gives even less faith that the game is still in development. The only reason we know it to be is the developer’s website lists open roles for it, but given how infrequently they update it, who knows if those are truly open roles. The game is so MIA that the official Xbox YouTube channel no longer has the trailer listed, which is never a good sign, which could mean the ban in Contraband is taking itself a little to seriously.

DRAGON QUEST 12

Revealed: May 2021 | Status: Returning | Developer: Square Enix | Publisher: Square Enix

This is one of those additions that shouldn’t be here, mostly because we kept getting told it was making progress. When this game was announced, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake was announced and that has shipped and since then, 4 additional games have been announced and released and another, Dragon Quest 1+2 HD-2D Remake is on its way.

Now I do understand that a giant open world RPG like 12 is going to take more effort than a mobile game, which is what some of those 4 were, but in the mix of those 4 was another fairly large RPG. Given how poorly Final Fantasy 16 sold on PlayStation 5 for Square Enix, I assume they are going to keep working on this one until they are 100% ready for it to go, but the catch there is players won’t wait. Games that take too long to release do start to see players drift away and like Bioshock 4 above, we are not asking for a full reveal, but just something to convince us that the game still exists.

The Elder Scrolls VI

Revealed: Jun 2018 | Status: Returning | Developer: Bethesda Game Studios | Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

It has now been 7 years since this game was announced as coming and in that time, there has been no official word on the status of it, outside of some slight mentions. The last time we got a mention of the game was back in March 2024 when the studio was beginning to talk about the upcoming Starfield content they were working on, the Shattered Space expansion included. The last update for that was released in May and it was a fairly beefy one, though was mostly focused on quality-of-life updates. The team have since said that The Elder Scrolls VI will not release until 2026 or later.

The big question for the game right now is where is it set, because the world of the Elder Scrolls is quite vast. Now excluding The Elder Scrolls Online, the main games have been set in Skyrim, Cyrodiil, Morrowind, Daggerfall and the Arena. The spin-off games Blades and Shadowkey were set in the western edges of Cyrodiil and the Western Reach. Fans believe the new game will be set in Hammerfell, which if you know your world map is to the west of Skyrim and Cyrodiil, sort of tucked between the two of them. Now given that Bethesda Game Studios have moved to a ‘only show when they know a release date’ model, it is unlikely we are going to see anything about the game any time soon, but with no other major games in development now, we can hope that we get something soon.

HOLLOW KNIGHT: SILKSONG

Revealed: Feb 2019 | Status: Returning | Developer: Team Cherry | Publisher: Team Cherry

Revealed way back in February 2019, the game was a surprise addition to the Nintendo booth line up at PAX Australia that same year, I even have the pin to prove it. But since that hands on, the game has been absent from everything. Don’t misunderstand it pops up in random places, showing off mostly the same footage, like the most recent Nintendo Switch 2 reveal Direct. It was also in that Direct that Team Cherry reaffirmed a 2025 release date, the problem with that, is they have constantly said the same about years before.

When the game was announced, it was for PC and Switch and since then, 3 more consoles have been revealed and released and there is still no date. When the game popped up in the Xbox Games Showcase back in 2022, many had hoped the game would release within 12 months of that, as it was promised all games within that showcase would. It however did not. See the team every time they speak about the game, or release a new release window, they keep doing the same thing, going radio silent once again. Now if I were a betting man, given that Silksong is part of the local ACMI event that kicks off in September 2025, I would think launching your game near the launch of that event would be good for business, but given the studio just keeps delaying, who the hell knows what they are thinking. The only beacon of light in this long development tunnel is that the game will be playable at the Xbox booth at Gamescom and that clearly had to be a good sign.

Untitled Iron Man game

Revealed: Sep 2022 | Status: New | Developer: Motive Studios | Publisher: Electronic Arts

Since its September 2022 announcement, there has been nothing released on the Iron Man game in development at Motive Studios, in fact all they have said is this:

An all-new single-player, third-person, action-adventure Iron Man video game, developed in collaboration with Marvel Games.

We do know that the game is still in development, because when Electronic Arts killed off the Black Panther game earlier this year and closed the studio, they confirmed that the game was still happening. The bigger problem is that after almost 3 years, we have not seen the game, no concept art or even a random slide from a PowerPoint pack, just nothing. What makes it worse is that when Electronic Arts killed off Ridgeline Games in February 2024, the Battlefield content that they were working on, was shoved onto Motive. I give Motive credit they are a talented studio, but when they were already hard at work on a new game, being forced to take over another project, will likely not have been a good thing. With Battlefield 6 now being revealed, does that mean Iron Man will get a time to soar, I doubt it, I fully expect they have put more folks into Battlefield, given that is releasing this year.

Judas

Revealed: Dec 2022 | Status: Returning | Developer: Ghost Story Games | Publisher: 2K

Another year, another listing of Judas and that is simply because the game is just never coming out. The game was formally announced in December 2022, but it had been in development for years, as the ground work was being laid as far back as 2014. Ghost Story Games is actually a slimmed down version of Irrational Games, with founder Ken Levine laying off most of the studio and starting fresh.

This one got a trailer as part of its reveal, but we are almost 3 years later and there has not been anything released on the game since then. What is perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the development is that the Take-Two Interactive CEO was so confident in the game, he said it would be out by March 2025. That clearly did not happen. Recently, as of July 2025, Levine confirmed the game will be entirely single player, with no online, no microtransactions, just a straight forward single player game. All that sounds great, but until we see more of the game, I am going to be prepared for the stab in the back on those promises.

Jurassic Park: Survival

Revealed: Dec 2023 | Status: New | Developer: Saber Interactive | Publisher: Saber Interactive

When this game was announced, I had two reactions, the first was that this looked like it could be a good game and the second was that the name had already been used. Of course, that game never released so the name was never actually used, but it still made me chuckle. This new use of the name was announced in December 2023 and while June 2024 saw some interviews come out about the game, there has been no new footage released.

What is interesting about this game, is the setting that the developers have gone with, the day after the events of the original film. In the movie, after Dr Grant and everyone else gets off the island, this is where the game picks up, with Dr Maya Joshi discovering she was left behind and trying to find a way to escape. What is going to be challenging for the developers is that there is already a sequel to the first movie, where other characters are left on the island, I am of course talking about Jurassic Park: The Game from Telltale Games. I imagine someone at Sabre Interactive or at Universal Products & Experiences has realised this potential story issue and that is why we have not seen anything since its reveal. More realistically, it will be down to Sabre Interactive having so many studios and therefore, having so many games already in development, 9 by our count, and something is always going to be left behind.

MASS EFFECT 5

Revealed: Dec 2020 | Status: Returning | Developer: Bioware | Publisher: Electronic Arts

You may notice a lot of dates here where games were revealed in 2020 or 2021, I do not know if that was a by product of developers getting covid or what, but it is crazy. Mass Effect 5, as there is no other name for it yet is one of those games, we have seen a teaser trailer and some art, but nothing substantial. Last year we raised the point that the Austin studio was ready to help speed up development, but then Dragon Age: The Veilguard released and Bioware, it fell hard.

In January 2025, Electronic Arts gutted Bioware, with reports saying more than 100 developers were let go, with the remaining staff left to work on Mass Effect. Most staff were let go or transferred to other studios under the EA group, but those were also reported to be permanent. The problem is that Bioware was a respected developer, we saw countless folks that were incredibly talented leave over the years when EA management did not see millions of copies sold day one, which was never what Bioware did. With Mass Effect seemingly the only IP the studio has to work on now, I would hope that they are allowed to just create the game they want. But if reports are to be believed, people who don’t actively make games might try to get in the way again.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake

Revealed: Sep 2020 | Status: Returning | Developer: Ubisoft Montreal | Publisher: Ubisoft

Oh Ubisoft, yet another spot on this list and this is the worst offender. The game was announced in September 2020 for a January 2021 release, but in December 2020 it was pushed back to March 2021. Then in February 2021 it was delayed to an unknown date and it would not be until June 2024 that we saw the game again, via a little teaser trailer. A day after that trailer released, Bio Jade Adam Grange the Creative Director for the game confirmed the game was in full production and aiming for a 2026 release.

The problem is that without any sort of Ubisoft Forward, or them joining in on any other showcase events with the game, we don’t know if the game is actually making progress. Now development is back in the hands of the Montreal studio, which is where the original game was created, so I have hope things will be moving forward, but there is a catch. Ubisoft are splitting up and moving some IP and studios under a new name, with the Montreal location being one of them. With that development expected to take the rest of 2025 to get government approval, it could mean that things are just going to remain silent on this one, I just hope not. If development has had a full 12 months since the last update, any sort of news would be quite welcome on this one.

SPLINTER CELL REMAKE

Revealed: Dec 2021 | Status: Returning | Developer: Ubisoft Toronto | Publisher: Ubisoft

After 3.5 years Ubisoft gave people hope when they tweeted out a picture of an unnamed character with the hashtag of Splinter Cell just a few weeks before Faux-3, but then nothing. Since the official reveal, Ubisoft have released a number of concept art pieces, but that has been it and while leakers claim to have seen it, given the record of many of them, I doubt those events have taken place.

Much like the other Ubisoft games in the pipeline, they have done the same thing here as they often do, announce things to early. The problem is, the last time we heard anything about the game was when the director left the company and since then, we have had nothing. If the game is still happening, then Ubisoft need to tell us and if not, then I suspect the series will just slink back into the shadows, but we need to know either way.

STAR WARS: ECLIPSE

Revealed: Dec 2021 | Status: Returning | Developer: Quantic Dream | Publisher: Quantic Dream

I really didn’t want to have to include this one again, we are coming up on 4 years and apart from some concept art released in error, we have not seen anything about the game. Eclipse has become vapourware, the game is just not real at this point and a lot of that comes down to the developer admitting after the trailer released, that the game was not in production at that time.

Now Eclipse has a unique problem, the game is set within the era of the High Republic and that has not had the best track record. The first and most popular is the book series simply called Star Wars: The High Republic, but that is wrapping up soon. There were some moments of it referenced in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but the most mainstream appearance of the era was in The Acolyte, which was divisive to say the least. After all this time though, Eclipse needs to either put up or shut up, but as they have not said anything in years, they just need to show the game.

STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC REMAKE

Revealed: Sep 2021 | Status: Returning | Developer: Sabre Interactive | Publisher: Sabre Interactive

Much like the Star Wars game above, it has been years since we got any substantial update on the game. The CCO of the studio working on the game, Tim Willits tweeted out earlier this year that the studio is working on a lot of stuff, but will only share when they have something cool to show. Which is well and good, but given Sabre has been working on this for a few years now, a tease would go down well.

This is the third year in a row that this game has appeared and honestly, nothing has changed in that time. The developer swap had already happened, that means that Sabre has been sitting on this for a while. I am happy to let the teams working on this cook, I just wish there was something in the pot.

State of decay 3

Revealed: Jun 2020 | Status: Returning | Developer: Undead Labs | Publisher: Xbox Game Studios

This game was announced in 2020 and then it went radio silent, before popping up in 2024 at the Xbox Games Showcase in June with the trailer below and then in the past 12 months, more silence. The studio was working on State of Decay 2 at the time this game was announced, but they handed that off to another studio and now even with another studio working on the sequel, all the work on that game is done. 2024 had it revealed that Undead Labs was working on Grounded, but that too is also out and we know that Eidos Montreal is working on Grounded 2.

So what is going on? Honestly there is no word on what the status is. We know its going to be more zombie survival goodness, but beyond that, there is nothing. While the trailer below is cool, it has been 7 years since the second game released and the dead don’t say dead that long.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin

Revealed: Aug 2023 | Status: New | Developer: Black Forest Games | Publisher: THQ Nordic

This game was left off of last years list, simply because we published it out before the THQ Nordic Showcase, so it survived simply due to timing. This year, we waited for that showcase and it was a no show for the second year in a row. Now development was apparently started in March of 2023, so it was not being worked on for long, before it was announced, but that does not matter to us.

The problem is that with Embracer having a host of financial issues over the past few years and now breaking their company structure up, we have no idea what the status of many of the games are, which is a real shame. Black Forest Games make some good games, but I would not be surprised if they really want to make this great, but I suspect that a new issue has risen for this game. In March 2024, around 9 months after the game was announced, a sequel comic released to the original, which basically doubled the possible story to be told for the game. My question now is, will the developers stick to adapting the original comic, or are they going to include both. If its the former, than we had best see something soon, but if it is the latter, I doubt we will see this game release until 2027.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 3

Revealed: Sep 2023 | Status: New | Developer: Massive Entertainment | Publisher: Ubisoft

There really isn’t much for this one, in September 2023 it was announced as happening and that Julian Gerighty would be taking control of the game, once he finished with Star Wars Outlaws. That is really all that has been said about this new game.

At the time of the announcement Gerighty was working on Outlaws, while dealing with the three Division games that were coming. He is now focused on Division 3 and the below game, as Heartland has been cancelled. With Division 2 getting a fairly decent expansion a few months back, it is possible they were using that for testing of new features, we honestly don’t know. Given the more sedate pace Ubisoft seem to be taking on new games, and without a proper reveal, this is one I don’t expect to be activated for quite a while.

Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence

Revealed: Jul 2022 | Status: New | Developer: Ubisoft | Publisher: Ubisoft

First announced back in 2022, things for this one looked like they were going fairly well, there were pretty consistent news updates for the game. But in November 2023, the final dev diary for the game released and then the game went radio silent. The game was expected to release in 2024, so going silent just weeks before the year began was not a major problem, no the bigger issue was that the game was then delayed until April 2025 at the earliest.

If time is not something you care about, we are a few months past then and the game has been silent still. They also delayed Rainbow Six Siege Mobile, which also has had no news, but this is the one that got a lot of coverage, the other has not. So, what is going on? Honestly there is no word on what is going, because when they delayed it they said setting a date is hard to define. Mobile games are often silent until release, so this really bucked the trend early on, but maybe its now just becoming like the rest, here is hoping that does not mean bloated with microtransactions and ads though.

Untitled Tomb Raider game

Revealed: Dec 2022 | Status: New | Developer: Crystal Dynamics | Publisher: Amazon Games

I remember the news of this games announcement very well, as I was sitting in Orlando International Airport waiting for my flight to board, so I could begin the long journey back to Australia. Since then, I have had a few holidays overseas and this game has not had a single release of new information provided. Now you might argue that the developers had a lot going on over the years, the last game they shipped was Marvel’s Avengers in 2020 and they did support that for a few years, but that ended before this new game was even announced.

Of course, they are not a small studio with around ~250 people working there, even after the layoffs and not all of the studio was working on the now cancelled Perfect Dark game. They have not been completely without work since the game was announced as both Tomb Raider I–III Remastered and Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered have been released, which the studio consulted on the updated look of things. They also worked on the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered release as well, again in a consultant capacity. With those releases out and Perfect Dark cancelled, that means the entire studio can now focus on working on this new Tomb Raider game, which I hope means a new trailer later this year.

Untitled STAR WARS GAME

Revealed: Apr 2022 | Status: Returning | Developer: Skydance New Media | Publisher: Lucasfilm Games

I have mixed feelings about including this game in the list, one I know the game is going to take a while still, because the team making it are making 1943: The Rise of Hydra first, which is set to release in 2026. But I also want to give them grief, because as a Star Wars fan, the ingredients are here to make me excited and as its been more than 3 years, I want the game now.

The games creative director is Amy Hennig, who created the Uncharted series at Naughty Dog, she is also responsible for many of the games in the Legacy of Kain series. The games director is Dominic Robilliard, who was the director on Star Wars: 1313 before it was cancelled when Disney shut down Lucasarts. While I do understand that the team at Skydance New Media have a game in development, they have to have a few people working on this and I wish they would give us something, but I doubt that will happen until their first game is out

The Wolf Among Us 2

Revealed: Dec 2019 | Status: New | Developer: Telltale Games and AdHoc Studio | Publisher: Telltale Games

This is one of those rollercoaster developments, the game was first announced in 2017, but nothing was never revealed and then in September 2018, Telltale Games closed up shop. Fast forward a year and the studio name was revived and in December 2019, The Wolf Among Us 2 was formally revealed, with a trailer and everything and then it went silent. The game was expected to release in 2023, but in the early months of the year, the developers revealed that it would not happen, as the team wanted to move the games development to Unreal Engine 5 and that it would now release in 2024.

That did not happen. In fact reports came out about 6 months after that delay announcement, saying the studio was in trouble and a month later, the studio confirmed the game was still happening. But that was the last time we heard anything of the game, which was almost a full year ago now. The reason I have doubts on their claims of safety is simply because the studio has been pretty much radio silent on things since its reveal. The other reason that I question if this game is still happening is that the other studio working on the game, AdHoc Studio, has been working on Dispatch and it is hard for a small studio to work on two projects at once. With almost another year of silence, I don’t think this wolf is gonna howl anytime soon.

WOLVERINE GAME

Revealed: Sep 2021 | Status: Returning | Developer: Insomniac Games | Publisher: PlayStation Studios

This game should have been revealed by now, properly I mean it has been almost 4 years since it was first announced. Since that first reveal, we have not see anything officially released about the game and I do stress officially. There was sadly that ransomeware attack in December 2023, which saw assets and even a clunky, yet playable build released to the internet. In 2024 the games creative direct Brian Horton left Insomniac for The Initiative (see Perfect Dark at the top) and two new leads were added to the game.

The problem is that the studio has had no games since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 released and that was in 2023, with the PC release earlier this year being lead by another studio. Insomniac Games have two teams, one team was working on Spider-Man while the other did Ratchet & Clank and both of those games have long been done. Even if we ignore the Spider-Man team and say that they were only ramping up into full production in early 2024, the other team had been without a public project since June 2021. I honestly just believe that this game is a case of revealing it far to early, as it is unlikely that anything was happening in the games development at the time. Sadly, it meets the criteria, so it is on the list, I just wish it wasn’t.

So, there we go. That is our list of games that have been MIA for quite sometime. Now some of the games will have just been announced far to early, but many of them came out swinging with trailers and big promises and then just never delivered.

Game development is a hard thing, every aspect these days goes through countless iterations and I am always happy to see developers take the time they need, in order to make there game. This is list is just produced out of a desire to play the games and is such done for fun, we expect all developers to ensure they are working normal weeks, in order to maintain a work life balance and if a game is not shown for a year, to enforce such a measure, then that is fine by us.

But those are our games that are MIA, do you have any that you have been waiting to see?
