The ROG Xbox Ally are now available for pre-order and have a hefty price attached

Asus Australia have announced that pre-orders for the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds are open and with that comes the prices, finally.

But while we have the prices, don’t celebrate just yet as they are expensive:

  • The ROG Xbox Ally, the essential handheld for the casual player to the avid enthusiast, will be available for AUD $999.

  • The ROG Xbox Ally X, the ultimate high-performance handheld built for the most demanding players, will be available for AUD$1,599.

You can learn more about each of the products on the official site, the ROG Xbox Ally here and the ROG Xbox Ally X here, but they don’t provide a full PC spec breakdown. They do however confirm the ports for both devices, which you can also see below.

Most of the games shown in last nights Tokyo Game Show Broadcast from Xbox will actually run on the handhelds, to what level of quality remains to be seen, but they will run at least.

Something that Asus have talked about is performance, this is what they reported in their press release. We have not altered the content, just the format for ease of reading.

During testing on pre-release hardware, the ROG Xbox Ally X delivered up to 30% performance increase(1) in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Doom: The Dark Ages compared to the previous-generation ROG Ally X.

The battery endurance of the ROG Xbox Ally X gives it up to twice the battery life when playing Hollow Knight: Silksong.(2).

As for the ROG Xbox Ally, performance is boosted up to 20% in Forza Horizon 5 and Gears of War: Reloaded(3), and has up to 110% more battery life versus ROG Ally X.(4)Both the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor and the AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor are primed to take advantage of Radeon’s latest software suite for graphical and performance improvements, including AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution (FSR), Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), and AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) frame generation, with the latter offering up to 60% better frame rates for improved smoothness.

Now each of those points has things to note, again the notes below are exactly as Asus have reported them to us, we have not altered the content, just how easy it is to read.
