Nitro Deck 2 has been announced and is coming next year

The hardware makers CRKD have announced that they are not waiting years this time and instead have announced Nitro Deck 2 for Nintendo Switch 2, giving players access to new ways to play.
The Nitro Deck 2 was redesigned and no longer requires sliding the console into the shell. Instead, you place the tablet in the case and tighten a retractable locking dial on the rubberized backplate for a safer, secure fit. It includes a legacy adapter for use with the original Nintendo Switch and OLED Switch. Bluetooth adds compatibility with Switch 2, Switch, PC, mobile devices, and smart TVs, and the included U Adapter lets you play wired with low latency.
“The Nitro Deck launched the CRKD brand, and is still loved by thousands of Switch gamers. Since the Switch 2 launched, we have been inundated with requests to upgrade our hero accessory but were reluctant to make any announcements until we were confident of delivering a worthy successor that not only matched the original but built upon it with meaningful changes and innovations. Our whole team is so proud of Nitro Deck 2 and we believe the impact it makes to handheld gaming will be welcomed by the Switch gaming community. We look forward to welcoming old and new fans to Nitro Deck 2 and are working hard to begin shipping in Spring next year.”
Nitro Deck 2 improves user comfort with an offset right thumbstick for a more natural grip. The outer shell is also reshaped with sculpted contours for a noticeably better feel in hand than the original Nitro Deck.
Nitro Deck 2 adds CRKD CaptiStick Technology: capacitor-based thumbsticks that give drift-free, highly responsive control and adjustable resistance. Unlike Hall Effect sticks, CaptiSticks aren’t affected by magnets and use a contact-free design to prevent wear and stop stick drift. The efficient sensor provides precise input with low power use, and players can set stick resistance for faster movement or tighter, more controlled aiming.
Nitro Deck 2 now has smooth, tactile Digital Triggers and a stronger metal kickstand. It supports motion controls and features adjustable rumble for precise feedback. Players can also customize performance with Adjustable Rumble, Deadzone Mode, Turbo Mode, and other settings.
While the device can be ordered today, they won’t actually ship until April next year. The price on the website is $168, but needs about $53 more added on for shipping. Local retailers will offer the device, but there is no listings for it yet from the usual suspects.
