New details for Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park

Nintendo have released a new overview trailer for the upcoming Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which includes the original game enhanced for the new platform, plus the new DLC. Check it out.

First is the new Bellabel Park, an area that lets players come together to enjoy what they call attractions, we will call them levels. Here you will get to encounter various challenges, the two detailed are:

  • Fast Cash: Tip Tap’s Coin Spree where you collect as many gold coins as you can

  • Knock ‘em Back: Bubble Blaster where you duke it out and try to survive with the most lives intact.

These games can be played with 4, 8 or even 12 players. That is because the new addition features enhanced multiplayer functions. Most games will only allow either 4 or 8 players, which you can do either on a single system, using GameShare to share the game from one Nintendo Switch 2 to three other Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. Local wireless play is also supported, so 8 players can come together to test their skills, or you can do it online. There are 6 additional games that allow for 12 players to battle it out, in a fun way, to see who can be the winner.

At Bellabel Park, try challenges based on Super Mario Bros. Wonder courses. As you play the main game, more training courses unlock across the Flower Kingdom. Complete them solo or with up to three others to climb the Toad Brigade ranks and become an elite explorer.

Rosalina joins the Flower Kingdom for the first time, with Co-Star Luma as an assist when two or more players play. Luma can’t be hurt but spins to defeat enemies and collect coins. You can also control Luma using the Nintendo Switch 2 mouse controls.

While Rosalina and Luma are always welcome guests, you might feel differently about the Koopalings, who — as usual — show up to stir up a little chaos. After treasure hidden inside Bellabel Park is stolen by the seven Koopalings, each of them scatters to different worlds throughout the Flower Kingdom. Keep your eyes peeled, because if you happen to encounter one, you’ll need to enter their course and face them in battle.

Finally, for those younger players who want to enjoy the game, it now comes with Assist Mode, which basically negates all damage. This means if you get hit, you won’t take damage and if you fall into a hole, you will be save by a propeller flower.

The game will arrive on March 26 for Nintendo Switch 2. Anyone who owns either the physical or digital version of the Nintendo Switch game, can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition for a fee.
