Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 are back this October

As part of their reveal for the Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary, Nintendo have announced that the Wii games, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Check out the Switch trailer below.
Both titles feature improved UI, the option to play with button and stick or motion controls, an in-game music player, new Storybook content and enhanced resolution. For Nintendo Switch players that means a full 1080p image, the original release on Wii was 480p and for Nintendo Switch 2 players, that means 4K support.
For those players who are younger, or maybe not as keen for the intergalactic adventures of Mario, a new assist mode has been added to the game. This will help players by giving some additional health, and assist with recovery when you fall.
The game will also feature a soundtrack player, letting you enjoy the music of the series whenever you would like, without Nintendo Music. For those curious, at the time of writing only the first games soundtrack is there.
While the game is out this October, both physically and digitally, in April next year, two new amiibo are releasing. These amiibo feature Mario and Luma, along with Rosalina and two Luma, both in iconic poses from the series. These are going to be larger amiibo, so expect the price to be higher than normal.
If you scan the Mario amiibo you will get a red mushroom and if you scan the Rosalina amiibo you will get a 1-up mushroom. There is no word yet on if the Super Mario series figures are supported. The local RRP for both figures is $44.95 and orders can be placed now.
The physical edition has a RRP of $89.95 and is available to pre-order today. The games can be obtained digitally as well, together or on their own.
Finally, below are some screens for both Super Mario Galaxy…
