Yoshi is back, with Yoshi and the Mysterious Book coming in 2026

As part of the final reveal from the Mario 40th anniversary portion of the recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo have revealed a brand new Yoshi game, the first standalone game for the character since 2019. Check out the reveal trailer below.
Details on the gameplay are a bit scarce right now, but given there is no date beyond 2026 that is to be expected. This is all we have on the story for the games:
One day, on the island where Yoshi and his friends live, a peculiar talking book named Mr. E suddenly falls from the sky. This mysterious book’s pages contain information about unusual creatures, so Yoshi decides to jump in and help investigate.
There is no release date beyond 2026, but given Nintendo have a few things planned for the first few months, March would be the earliest I would expect to see this one. Whenever it does release, it will arrive onto Nintendo Switch 2.
