Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds reveals more of its crossover characters

Sega released a trailer over the weekend for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, showing off one of the new groups coming to the game, SpongeBob SquarePants. This addition joins the previously announced Minecraft additions, check out the trailer to see Bikini Bottom in racetrack form.

The game will offer 23 racers at launch, the known list is thus:

  • Sonic

  • Amy

  • Tails

  • Knuckles

  • Shadow

  • Cream & Cheese

  • Dr. Eggman

  • Omega

  • Zazz

  • Jet

  • Wave

  • Storm

There are still 11 unknown racers from that line up, but in trailers and even screens below you can see Silver the Hedgehog, Vector the Crocodile and Big the Cat, so odds are most of the Sonic characters are going to be revealed soon.

In addition to those, there will be free updates that add even more characters, Sega have announced 13 racers will be added via these updates. The ones announced so far are:

  • Hatsune Miku

  • Joker

  • Ichiban Kasuga

The paid content updates is where the new SpongeBob SquarePants comes into play. There are six paid DLC packs, which will be included in the Digital Deluxe Edition and while we know four of them, as Sega teased two more, we only know the characters for two of them. Here are those details:

    • Creeper

  • SpongeBob SquarePants

    • SpongeBob

    • Patrick

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

  • Avatar Legends

The game is releasing on September 23rd for PlayStation, PC, Switch and Xbox. The Digital Deluxe Edition will also grant access to the game 72 hours ahead of the Standard Edition, but Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players will not get that benefit.
