Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has gadgets and gimzos aplenty

Sega have released a new trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which shows off the customisation players can enjoy, as well as the gadgets that can be used to equalise the racing chaos, check it out.

With over 40+ vehicles, 70+ gadgets, and 100+ vehicle parts and decals, there are thousands of combinations available for players to customise the ultimate racing machine. Players can mix and match racers and vehicles, vehicle parts, and gadgets to create a customised racing experience suited to their gameplay style.

Sega also confirmed details about the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game and it is not straight forward. The game is launching on September 25 for all platforms except Nintendo Switch 2. Players on that console can buy and play the Nintendo Switch edition of the game, but the proper Nintendo Switch 2 will release digitally later in the year. Here are the details:

  • Release Date

    • Digital - Holiday 2025

    • Physical - Early 2026

      • The physical version will feature the full base game on the cartridge.

  • Upgrade Pack

    • There is an Upgrade Pack for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch- OLED Model, and Nintendo Switch Lite users

      • With the Upgrade Pack, content and progress will carry over to Nintendo Switch 2.

So, for players who have a Nintendo Switch 2 and want the game, they can begin racing on September 25 and then use the free upgrade later in the year. If you want the physical release, which will contain the entire game on a card, which is a nice change from all the Game Key Card releases done so far by Sega.
