Orbitals, a co-op adventure drops onto Nintendo Switch 2 next year

As part of their many reveals at The Game Awards 2025, Kepler Interactive announced that they were publishing Orbitals from Shapefarm. The game is an asymmetrical co-op adventure where Maki and Omura have to work together, to save their space station home.
In Orbitals, players will team up and take on the roles of Maki and Omura, two inseparable explorers with a whole lot more determination than on-the-job experience. Working together, they will brave the perils of space to save their crumbling space station home from the dangers of a supernatural cosmic storm. Whether it’s by using unique tools to open the path forward, piloting their spaceship through dangerous asteroid fields or taking a break and soaking up the lavish anime-inspired atmosphere, players will embark on an intergalactic adventure and forge new bonds as friends together.
The games unique visuals are a throwback to the early 90s, at least according to the developers and they have partnered with Studio Massket, the animation house behind hundreds of some of the most beloved and popular Japanese anime, to create hand-crafted cutscenes for the game for that extra layer of authenticity for fans of the anime medium.
As the game is a co-op focused title on Switch 2, players can use a Joy-Con 2 each for split-screen local play, or use GameShare to share the game to a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console. The game will also support online play and use the microphone on the console to let you direct the adventure.
The game is coming out sometime in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, but there is no firmer date yet.
