Nintendo has detailed the Switch 2 updates coming to select Switch titles

Nintendo announced during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct that a select range of Nintendo Switch games would be given free updates, to allow them to work even better on Nintendo Switch 2 and now we have the details.

The updates, which you can see below per game, are mostly resolution bumps, but there are a few technical boosts. Game Builder Garage for example is getting Mouse support in the update and both Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are getting updates to improve the framerates.

All these updates will be available on June 5, the same day as the console.

  Updates included:

  • Frame rate: Optimised for Nintendo Switch 2 for smoother movement (even when playing with 3 or more players).

  • HDR support

• Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

  Updates included:

  • Visuals: Optimised for the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs for improved image quality.

• 51 Worldwide Classics

  GameShare support:

  • Up to four people can play 34 games.
