Pokémon Legends: Z-A arrives this October for both Switch and Switch 2

Nintendo and the Pokémon Company have announced that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will release on October 16th for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a new frontier for the Pokémon video game series, blending an RPG story unfolding in a single city with action elements and a real-time battle system unlike anything seen before in the franchise. Trainers can look forward to the beginning of a new adventure in Lumiose City—one woven by people and Pokémon together!
The best news, at least for Nintendo Switch 2 is that the game will release on an actual card, no Game-key in sight.
For anyone who does buy the Nintendo Switch edition this year, an upgrade path for the Nintendo Switch 2 edition will be available. Prices for that have not been confirmed but between $20 and $30 is likely. In a weird move, the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition version of the game can also be used in the Nintendo Switch console. This is the full statement on that:
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will also be playable on the Nintendo Switch system. When playing the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on Nintendo Switch, the content will be the same as that of the Nintendo Switch software. Additional content that utilises the specs of Nintendo Switch 2 will not be included.
Pre-orders for the game open on June 5th, via Nintendo eShop, local retailers will likely start to take orders over the next few days.
