2020 has been quite the year, but in the world of gaming, apart from some delays, it really just moved along like normal. Well, as normal as it can be in the midst of a global pandemic, with that said, there were countless amazing games across the various platforms and even some good movies to enjoy.

Here are the games we voted the best on PlayStation, starting with our 3rd place winner.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout gained a lot of attention when it released, due to it being free on PlayStation Plus, but also more importantly, having a simple mechanic that was easy to grasp for all skill levels.

Combining the chaotic nature of party games, like Mario Party, the zany antics of shows like Takeshi’s Castle and a dash of Battle Royale, it just came together to make something special. The developers have also been smart and included some very colourful outfits for players to unlock, from massive monsters like Godzilla, to iconic mascots like Sonic and everything in between.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout proves that you don’t need teams of hundreds to make a fun and rewarding game.

Launching a new ip at the end of a console generation is not usually a good idea, as most players usually have their games sorted, but Sucker Punch knew what they were doing and players responded.

Being able to step into the Waraji of a samurai, as you attempt to save your homeland from the invasion, from the Mongol horde. Given that it was an open world game, you might think there was lots to do, but they were smart and the more you explored the world, the more things opened up to you.

Ghost of Tsushima is proof what a talented developer can do, with time and understanding can achieve when given the freedom to be creative.

The Last of Us Part II had a lot of expectations leading up to its release, there was almost no way that it could meet them all, but it somehow did.

This was the game that we voted for the most on PlayStation, it offered a deep story, complex characters and some amazing gameplay. While not a perfect game, it expanded upon the various themes that the first game began and even if you didn’t enjoy a character or story, there was enough variety to things to keep things interesting over the length of the game.

Naughty Dog managed to capture lightning in a bottle for a second time, an accomplishment rarely achieved by most developers
