Maxi-Geek's Best Of 2020 - PC
2020 has been quite the year, but in the world of gaming, apart from some delays, it really just moved along like normal. Well, as normal as it can be in the midst of a global pandemic, with that said, there were countless amazing games across the various platforms and even some good movies to enjoy.
This time we are talking PC, the platform that has been going on the longest, with it’s unbroken streak.
There is just a perfect mix of horror gaming and VR, they seem made for each other and no game perhaps made that more true than Phasmophobia.
You and three other players can team up and become Scooby-Doo and the gang, just minus the talking dog and replace the fake scares with real ones. As paranormal investigators, there are plenty of locations for you to explore and attempt to uncover the ghosts, the only downside, the game is still in early access.
Just remember the saying though, “I ain’t fraid of no ghosts”

When id Software rebooted DOOM a few years ago, it had the potential to be a bit of a mess, fast forward four more years and the sequel was hotly anticipated and for good reason.
The game took the core, shoot and run gameplay, added in new mechanics that fit the world, new enemies to rip and tear, plus if that wasn’t enough, it included another amazing soundtrack. For those that wanted to enjoy the lore of the series, Eternal was practically bursting at the seems with information to discover.
The game kept up the action with it’s first DLC later in the year and there is still more to come in 2021 as well.

This is one of the longest running game series, not just of the decade, but of all time, in fact the series has been around since before Donkey Kong.
But it was the 2020 release that elevated this series to new heights, pun intended, not only did it allow you to fly planes all around the world, in a year when most couldn’t leave the house, but it also let you experience realistic weather and locations, with incredible detail, which takes this from being a game and makes it an experience.
The game just added VR support on PC and is coming to Xbox Series X in 2021, indicating that a mid-air refuelling is needed, as this game doesn’t seem like landing anytime soon.
