Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree drops a character spotlight

During the recent Bandai Namco ‘Summer’ Showcase, Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree was included, in order to spotlight two of the games playable characters, Rekka and Nishiki. Check out the trailer for them below.
The two characters, Rekka and Nishiki are just the first to get the spotlight treatment, the game has a number of heroes after all, so who are these first two?
First is Rekka, the founding master of the Eternal Flame Dojo, she’s pledged to be Towa’s personal guard. But despite her mastery of swords, she can be a total klutz. In everyday situations. Her fiery skill with swords makes her well-balanced with strong combos and AOE attacks.
Nishiki, despite his muscular stature and also the fact that he’s a humanoid koi fish (who, ironically, can’t swim), is a highly pious wanderer. Traveling from place to place, his outlook is that defeating Magatsu is a form of philanthropy and is eager to join the fight with a highly mobile and combo-heavy style.
We already got details on Towa, which means there are six characters left to get the spotlight treatment. The names of the characters are not hidden, you can even learn about them now on the games website. The remaining characters are Shigin, Origami, Mutsumi, Koro, Akatsu and Bampuku.
The game itself is a Roguelite adventure set in a far-off mystic realm, ancient forces stir, and untold dangers await. As Towa, lead the guardians of the sacred tree in forging strong relationships and powerful swords to fight Magatsu’s forces and determine the future of Shinju Village.
On their quest to restore peace, play as Towa and the Guardians as they explore far-off lands threatened by Magatsu’s evil influence. In a world where even splendor hides a lurking threat, courage is the only way forward. As Hitoshi Sakimoto’s melodies guide the way, a breathtaking yet untamed landscape unfolds where the fight to save Shinju Village begins.
The game is set to release on September 19 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
