Nioh 3 will take players across Japan this February

Koei Tecmo have announced that on February 6, 2026 both PlayStation 5 and PC players will be able to save Japan by travelling across time, as Nioh 3 has been given its release date. Check out the latest trailer for the game below.

In order to get you ready for the epic adventure that awaits, below is the story setup for the game

In Nioh 3, players take on the role of Tokugawa Takechiyo, poised to become the next Shogun during Japan’s turbulent Sengoku period. In the shadows, Takechiyo’s younger brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, consumed by hatred towards his brother’s succession, plots to overthrow him. Empowered by a sinister force, he leads a horde of yokai in a fierce assault on Takechiyo, abruptly ending the era of peace and plunging Japan into hell. Guided by the mysterious power of his guardian spirit Kusanagi, Takechiyo transcends time to survive a kingdom in dire straits and become shogun.

In addition to the new trailer, a pair of interviews have also been released each featuring one of the actors bringing a character to life, with the first for Kanata Hongo who plays Kunimatsu Tokugawa and the other for Tao Tsuchiya, who is Himiko.

It was also confirmed that the game would have both a standard release, along with a Digital Deluxe Edition. With Bandai Namco taking over physical releases, we will need to wait to see if we are getting the SteelBook edition here in Australia.

Nioh 3 arrives on PlayStation 5 and PC on February 6.
