NBA 2K26 reveals the first details about its gameplay changes

Last week saw 2K reveal the first look at the gameplay coming to NBA 2K26. Now I know what you are thinking, how much can it have really changed from last year, well turns out quite a bit. Check out the new gameplay trailer to see the game in action.

Before we dive any further, it is important to note that the gameplay updates are for the modern platforms, that is PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC and Xbox Series X|S. Those who are plan on shooting hoops on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch or Xbox One are going to get mostly the same gameplay from NBA 2K25.

The major addition to the game this year is ProPlay, a system that lets the developers take footage from NBA matches and then have it appear in the game. So when Jordan or insert name of player here, does something amazing on the tv, that same motion is replicated via their in-game counterpart, assuming you have the skills to execute it of course.

Those who are keen to get hands on with the game early the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game will be available to enjoy on August 29, at least for those who pick up the Superstar Edition or the Limited Leave No Doubt Editions. For all other players, or those who don’t want to pay extra, the game will release on September 5. That is for all platforms, so Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
