MotoGP 24 has been announced, the lights go green this May

Milestone have announced MotoGP 24, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone as they produce the yearly release and have done for a while. This entry will offer players the chance to race in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, as well as the FIM Enel MotoE World Championship. There won’t be long to wait for the races to begin as the game us set to release on May 2nd, check out the trailer for it below.

The game will feature the return of Dynamic Weather and the Flag-to-Flag races, which made their debut in MotoGP 23, but will now be joined by two new additions, Stewards and the Riders Market.

Stewards will be responsible for monitoring the race and any timed session during the weekend, penalising riders and AI alike based on their behaviour on the track. From simple Warnings to Long Lap or Time Penalties, as well as Let Pass orders in case of unfair overtaking up to cancelled qualifying times, both players and AI will incur penalties if they break the rules. Irresponsible riding will even have greater consequences on rivalries with other riders.

As for the Riders Market, it should open up endless possibilities for riders to move to other teams. That means every season will start with a different roster, and players will not only compete to win races and championships but also to find a new seat or retain their current one. Likes and replies on the fictional Social Network will even fuel rumours about possible rider transfers.

The two new elements mean that seasons will be more dynamic than ever, plus when you combine those with the refined AI and handling mechanics, no two races will feel the same. But that is all for your solo career, what about with mates or others online.

Well taking the action online will see players enjoy the new LiveGP Championships. These are seasons composed of a certain number of LiveGPs; players will be challenged to climb the overall Championship leaderboard by scoring points at each LiveGP they attend.

The game itself is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but there are a lot of asterisk for platforms.

The game will offer Cross-play, meaning you can race with mates, but its only on Xbox and PlayStation and only within the same console family, so PlayStation 5 to PlayStation 4. PC and Switch owners will not get any Cross-play.

Switch owners are also missing out on LiveGP, so the fancy new mode is excluded and if that was not enough, all user generated content from the games outfit editor will not be shareable from Switch. The last element missing for Switch owners is Split-screen, which is supported on all the other platforms.

If you have a Switch and want the game, or you have any other platform and want the game, it will arrive on May 2nd.
