Hello, Mario arrives onto mobile devices here in Australia

Nintendo revealed My Mario last year for Japan and select parts of the world are slowly getting some of the physical products, but that has not been announced for us yet. We do however have the Hello, Mario apps for Android and iOS, letting young folks interact with Mario in fun new ways.

The trailer below does feature the app in question, but also the physical products, which are not announced as coming here at this time.

Hello, Mario is an app designed for youngsters to be able to interact with Mario. They can pull on his face, just like Super Mario 64, they can give him items, throw him in a warp pipe and more. Here are some of the things you can do

Make silly faces

  • Team up with your little one to see how silly Mario can get when you pull and stretch his face or take turns poking and spinning him around. You never know how Mario will react!

Play peekaboo

  • Invite Mario to play peekaboo by tapping on the leftmost icon in the Question Block menu. Boo may even make a guest appearance!

Built-in breaks

  • Mario gets tuckered out after playing for a while and will fall fast asleep. At that point no amount of poking can wake him up! For parents hoping to limit their child's screen time, this is a great opportunity to take a break.

There is a Nintendo Switch app for the same, but it is not live here in Australia, likely due to the lack of a local launch. We did ask Nintendo Australia if that would change recently, but they opted not to reply to our enquiries.

For now, if you have an Android or iOS device, you can pick up Hello, Mario and let your little ones have some fun.

In addition to the app, there have been a series of short videos that have been released, usually showing Mario doing something silly or playing a game. You can watch them all below.
