Ys X: Nordics is getting a western release later this year

NIS America have announced that Ys X: Nordics, the latest mainline entry in the long running Ys series, will release this Spring onto Switch, PlayStation and PC. Check out the first local trailer for the game below.

In this harsh land, the young adventurer, Adol Christin, encounters the Normans, a seafaring tribe, and is quickly drawn into the conflict between them, the townsfolk of Obelia Gulf, and the Griegr, undying monsters with mysterious agenda.

Partnering up with the Norman warrior, Karja, Adol must take to the waters of Obelia Gulf, navigating vast stretches of ocean, consulting maritime maps, and even getting into naval battles with enemy ships.

For those who don’t know, Adol is the one with the red hair below.

Interestingly, the game is also a prequel of sorts as it tells a tale from Adol’s youth, though there is no specific timeline revealed for when it takes place.

The game is coming to Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC, with the PC release available via Steam, GOG and Epic Game Store. The PC release will also allow players to enjoy the game with English audio or Japanese, console players will only have English audio.
