Yakuza Kiwami 2 is coming to Switch 2 this November

In the recent Nintendo Direct, Sega revealed a number of games for the new console, one of them was Yakuza Kiwami 2, the 3rd game canonically in the series. Check out the new trailer for the game below.

As you can see from the thumbnail on the video, the first game to hit Nintendo Switch, Yakuza Kiwami is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2. There is no confirmation on existing owners of Kiwami getting a free upgrade to the Switch 2 release, but that might come in time.

There is a digital bundle for both games, so if you don’t own them, you will be able to get both at once, or buy them individually. Here is a little about both games:

Yakuza Kiwami is the extreme remake of the game that launched the series nearly 20 years ago. Play as former yakuza Kazuma Kiryu and unwind a 10-billion-yen conspiracy in Tokyo’s red-light district, fueled by his fists and unyielding resolve that will make him a legend.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 has the ‘Dragon of Dojima’ Kazuma Kiryu return to face the ‘Dragon of Kansai,’ Ryuji Goda in an all-out war between rival Yakuza gangs in the sequel to Yakuza Kiwami.

These games follow on from the release of Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut, which launched alongside the console. So odds are very good that the series will complete on Nintendo Switch 2. You can also find our review of Yakuza Kiwami on Switch here, which showed some issues with the game that hopefully the Switch 2 version addresses.

Both games will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 13.
