XDefiant details its release window and road map plans at Ubisoft Forward

During Ubisoft Forward the live service titles were mostly shoved into a montage, except for XDefiant, the new shooter that takes familiar Ubisoft series and smashes them together in interesting ways.

The first bit of news is that the game will release this Winter, there isn’t an exact date yet, but the team are confident it will be in the season. In order to ensure that they are ready the team are hosting an Open Beta later this month, June 21st to 23rd will be the dates, exact times are to be confirmed though.

When the full launch roles around, it will offer up a six-week preseason featuring the full slate of launch content, including 14 maps, five factions, 24 weapons, and more. Then it will be on to Year 1 and a regular cadence of new content, including four new factions (each with its own unique characters and skills), 12 new weapons, and 12 new maps. As there was a closed beta recently, we ourselves put time into it, Ubisoft put together a compilation of clips from various streamers, showing off some of the action from it.
