Wreckreation has picked up speed and will release this October
THQ Nordic and developer Three Fields Entertainment have announced that Wreckreation has finally picked up a release date, with the game launching on October 28. Check out the newest trailer for the game below.
Wreckreation offers players the best of both worlds: the thrill of pure arcade racing and the freedom to create. Behind the wheel of more than 50 cars, players can explore a vast open world: roam around a fictional county, spanning 400 square kilometres, packed with opportunities for speed, stunts, and spectacular crashes. The Burnout DNA is alive and well - racing, jumping, and smashing are all at the heart of the action.
If this sounds a little like Burnout, that is because Three Fields Entertainment was founded by the creator of Burnout and many former Criterion folks have joined the studio. Their first game was not car related, but their second Dangerous Driving was, they had a sequel for that planned, but it evolved into Wreckreation. These are the key features that the developers are calling out:
Set records seven different ways on every road you drive: Drift. Air, Near Miss, Stunt, Crash and the more traditional Time.
Vacant Lots – Empty areas you’ll discover throughout your Kingdom. An opportunity to build structures that inform game design and experience beyond the structure’s footprint.
Huge game world, the MixWorld, that you design from free camera view. Place jumps, loops, obstacles, construct tracks on and off-road, and much more.
Pimp My Ride – Paint colors, finishes, wheels, boost flames, engine sounds, glass colors—you name it, you can customize it. All available from the beginning!
Wreckreation offers its own, old-school FM Radio dial featuring 16 channels as well as the option to stream your favorite.
