Disney have released a new trailer for the upcoming Jungle Cruise movie, inspired by the attraction that Walt Disney himself created for Disneyland, when the park opened in 1955, check it out.

The movie tells the tale of an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine.

Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate—and mankind’s—hangs in the balance.

The new poster for the movie has also been released, which you can view below and shows off the main cast, albeit, in painted form.

This July is clearly the month for the Jungle Cruise as the attraction within Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park will also re-open, with its new enhancements and storyline. Disneyland Park in California is also getting the same treatment, the remaining locations, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Paris are staying as they are, at least for now.
