The 'Summer' Game Fest is a four month long celebration of new games

Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards has announced Summed Game Fest, a banner for a series of events that will take place between Mid May to the end of August, capping things off with Gamescom Opening Night Live.

During this four month long event, publishers will showcase their games in a number of ways, with special events taking place, all digital of course, and some of them will contain special pre and post shows, hosted by Keighley himself.

On top of that Steam and Xbox will host limited time demos for gamers, to access and play some of these builds, like those that would be shown at E3, but again, all from the comfort of home.

Specific game content and timing will vary by platform. Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition will run June 9 – 14, with other platform dates to be announced.

Programming that is a part of Summer Game Fest will be distributed across all major streaming platforms, including publisher owned and operated channels on Facebook, Mixer, Twitch, Twitter, YouTube and more global outlets and media partners.

Here are some of the companies, that will take part in the event, when though, is still to be decided.
