The Legend of Zelda movie reveals two of its lead actors

In a late night social post and through Nintendo Today, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the roles of Zelda and Link have been cast for the upcoming movie The Legend of Zelda.

In the role of Zelda is Bo Bragason, who Disney+ fans might know from the series Renegade Nell, or the BBC mini-series The Jetty. As for Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, his work is even less unknown, as his biggest role to date was that of Pinocchio in the Disney+ movie, starring Tom Hanks.

The movie has been in the works for a number of years, it was first announced in 2023 and with director Wes Ball attached soon after. The movie was recently pushed back a few weeks from its March 2027 release it May 2027.

The movie was based off a script by Derek Connelly from the Jurassic World series, but that has changed with T.S. Nowlin now penning it, he is a frequent collaborator of Ball’s, so it makes sense. They are also currently writing the script for the recently announced Sifu movie.

With The Legend of Zelda either already started filming, or just about to, odds are we are going to get set leaks and other stuff like that, but given this is a Nintendo release I would imagine we get nothing official for quite a while.
