The Gunk gets a new gameplay reveal via the Xbox Gamescom showcase

A surprise reveal during the Xbox Gamescom showcase was that of The Gunk, the next game from Steamworld developers Image & Form and not one we have seen in a year and it seems they have been working real hard in the past 12 months, as the game is looking better than ever, check out the gameplay trailer below.

More than just a new gameplay trailer, the team have confirmed that the game will in fact release this December, exclusively for Xbox consoles and PC, launching day one into Xbox Game Pass as well.

For those playing on Xbox One, the game will be locked to 30fps, but the team state that it still looks incredible, where as those playing on Xbox Series X|S or a high end PC, can get 60fps and up to 4K resolution, meaning the game will look stunning.

In this newest adventure, you take on the role of Rani, one half of a space exploring duo and when she and her partner Becks land on an uninhabited world, looking for scrap to salvage, they quickly discover a new substance called The Gunk, which seems to be killing the planet.

The game will task you with collecting the gunk and the mechanics used to do so, will also help you explore this alien landscape, from rocky canyons to dense jungles and even below the surface, there will be no place you can’t dig into adventure.

The Xbox Wire has more information, so be sure to give it a read, but for now, we wait. The Gunk will launch this December across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
