Surprise! Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is here now on PlayStation 4

Out of nowhere, Activision have released the rumoured Call of Duty Modern War 2 Remaster to PlayStation 4, with other platforms set to follow, check out the trailer below.

Originally developed by Infinity Ward, and now remastered by Beenox, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered delivers the full story experience with stunning high-definition visuals and the latest audio advancements. Whether you lived it back in 2009 or have yet to play this iconic blockbuster campaign, this is an experience hailed by critics as one of the most memorable and incredible single-player story campaigns ever.

“Modern Warfare 2 campaign was incredible. We all remember the lasting impression the story left upon us. This campaign was very special and we thank Infinity Ward for creating such an amazing experience,” said Thomas Wilson, co-studio head, Beenox. “Restoring and remastering this campaign for a new generation of players was a labour of love for our team. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered does not include the Multiplayer or Spec Ops experiences of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. If you want a multiplayer experience, you are best served with Call of Duty Warzone.

The game features improved texture resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio, and much more, however those on PC can also expect an uncapped framerate as well as ultrawide monitor support on PC.
