Storm Island is changing with the launch of Saviors, the next season of Apex Legends

Apex Legends is about ready to kick off its 13th season, yes 13 and while there is a new Legend coming in the form of Newcastle, details about him are still under wraps. What is not though, are the monstrous changes to the island, which yes, that includes the carcass of a giant monster.

Storm Point is a location that many Apex Legends players will be familiar with, but with this new update, there are changes taking place, all of which are set to add to the island and yes that includes the giant sea monster.

Known as the downed beast, this monster is massive and will give new locations for players to scale and wage war upon, but you can also run through the belly of the beast. Considered a high tier loot location, during the drop if you managed to land on one of the cranes above it, you will find some great gear to help you out. Though if you land near it, you can use the beasts hard shell to give you some cover from those above, but inside the beast will come with its own challenges.

In addition to the beast, old IMC Armouries are popping up all over the island, created before the war ended, these were meant to be fully contained stations, with weapons, support gear and ample protection, however they went unused. The beasts arrival has caused these stations to emerge from their hiding places and activate, beckoning players inside.

You can just walk up to the armouries and if they are not in use, a ramp will open, welcoming you in. You are free to inspect everything within, but the moment you press the button to open the vault, the doors will slam shut and then give you 60 seconds to survive the onslaught of Spectres. Should you survive, you will find rewards that can help turn the tide of battle outside of them, with the more you destroy, the better the rewards will be.

The team is also including some regular updates to the island, including more wildlife, but for that you have to wait until May 10
