Apex Legends is set to launch into its 12th season, with a new game mode, legend, map and more

After teasing some of what was to come in the 12th season of Apex Legends last week, with the reveal of Mad Maggie, Respawn and EA have dropped an all new trailer for the season, showing off more of what is to come, from the new game mode Control, to teasing some of the changes to Olympus, check it out.

Control is the big new addition and you will want to get in and enjoy it from the outset of the launch of Defiance, as the mode is only set to be around for three weeks, unless it gets super popular and the developers change their minds of course.

If the name didn’t make it clear, Control is about controlling as many points on the map as you can, the longer you hold each point, the more points you earn for it. Rack up the required points to win the match and your team will win it all, the big change though is that if you die, you can just jump right back in.

When you die, you can jump back in with the same weapon loadout you enjoyed, until your untimely death, or you can swap out everything and get a fresh loadout for some new inspiration. Finding the perfect combinations of weapons and gear for yourself is crucial as it will help with the new Ratings System, the more kills you get, assists you make and zones you captures, will earn you points. The higher you get in the rankings, the more weapons and gear you will unlock, which in turn means a better chance at winning the battle.

But, should you die, your ranking gets reset and you have to start at the bottom again. The team have put together a full rundown on what Control will offer, so give it a read, it is worth it.

Season 12 of Apex Legends will launch on February 8 for all platforms.
