Skull and Bones details your path to become pirate royalty in this new gameplay trailer

With Skull and Bones finally dated for release, Ubisoft took the time in their recent Ubisoft Forward event, to showcase off the gameplay, in a brief but impactful new trailer, check it out.

When players start out in the game, they will have nothing to their name, except their own lair called The Helm and it is here where you begin your quest to become a true pirate king. You can start making goods like Rum and Opium and then sell them to whoever can afford them and once you have the gold, you can start to take on contracts of your own.

The trailer also delved into the world of ship customisation, because if you have goods on board, you will want to protect them. There are different ship types, which form the base of your fleet and let you choose between manoeuvrability, cargo space or speed, each with their own pros and cons. For example, the Sambuk gives an advantage to players using fire weapons, while the Brig - already a heavy hitter - can deal even more damage when it's anchored.

Ships can be change dup even more with different cannon types and other weapons, ammo for them, armour to protect your ship and then you get into the detail, letting you ensure your captains cabin is fit for your true royal pirate kingness.

Something that was nice to see confirmed, is that while the game is designed to be PvEvP, you can turn off the PvP part of the game, letting you just enjoy the world and dealing with the dangers that a pirate had to deal with across the 17th century.

The game is finally setting sail on November 8 for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
