Saros will release this March on PlayStation 5

As part of the recent State of Play, developer Housemarque lead the charge with the first look at gameplay of Saros, which was teased a year earlier. Check out the full reveal below.

Much like the studios last release, Saros is a 3rd person adventure, but this one is far more action based, with players exploring the planet of Carcosa. The game features Arjun Devraj, as they explore the ruins of a ancient civilization, all of which is powered by the eclipse that is taking place above the planet. The trailer above and the screens below are from just one area that the game will offer players a chance to explore.

Returnal offered players a chance to survive, if they were paying attention, but in Saros, you just use the new tools. The suit that Arjun wears is called the Soltari advanced combat suit and gives him advanced moves like dashing and such. Much like Returnal there is a looping element and at the start of each run you will choose from a mix of weapon types, both human and not, in the hopes of surviving whatever the hostile machines throw at you.

You can learn more about Arjun’s abilities over on the PlayStation Blog, but the one that is worth highlighting is the Second Chance. This is just like you would expect based on the name, when your downed in a fight, you are given the chance to rise back up and continue the fight. This does use the corruption energy that the eclipse is pouring down onto the planet, so there is likely a cost with it, but each time you rise back up, you get a little stronger.

Saros is set to arrive onto PlayStation 5, on March 20.
