Rare 40th Anniversary Vinyl set has been revealed

iam8Bit have announced that they are partnering with Rare in order to celebrate the gaming studios 40th anniversary. The celebration is coming in the form of music, in a 4 piece vinyl set.

Orders for the set will open up this Friday at 3am AEST, you can place yours here, and it will give you the following:

4 record in shades of Rareware Blue and Gold Vinyl
2.5 hours of music from games like Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Sea of Thieves and more
Some impressive artwork by Sydney artist Lewy Jones

The cost of the set is $100 USD, which is around $155 AUD before shipping is added, so it is not a cheap item, but if you are a fan of Rare, this will be a great addition to your collection. The group have done releases for Banjo-Kazooie, Battletoads and Viva Pinata in the past, with people being quite happy with those.

Below is a look at the art for each side of each record, for example side A of the first disc is all Battletoads, whereas side B is all Banjo-Kazooie. The full track list is on each image, but you can find the full list in plain text form below. One thing I want to call out is that next to each game name is the track title and the composer of said track.

Just one final thing, as Rare is owned by Microsoft, this does not include any music that is owned by Nintendo, a shame, but not unexpected.
