Professor Layton and the New World of Steam gets delayed again
In a move that should honestly not be surprising to anyone, Level-5 have announced that Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will now release in 2026, moving from its planned 2025 year. Their reason for the delay, just to deliver a better game. There was a trailer released for the game though, which was nice.
The below is the full statement for the delay:
LEVEL5 Inc. would like to begin by offering its sincere apologies to all fans who have been looking forward to the release of Professor Layton and the New World of Steam.
Although the release was originally scheduled for 2025, in order to deliver the game in the best possible form, the launch has been rescheduled for 2026.
We deeply regret any inconvenience this delay may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding and continued support.
The game was first announced back in 2023 for a late 2024 release, that became 2025 and now its 2026. I would say that delays are ok, as I would normally do, but Level-5 has delayed almost every single game they have announced in the past few years.
This is not a team just wanting to ensure that they have things done right, but rather a company whose leaders are either expecting way to much from their staff or have no idea what they are doing. From this I hope the actual developers who are working on this game, along with all the other titles at Level-5, get a chance to voice their frustrations at their constantly shifting work.
