PlayStation Slim is launching in Australia this December

Talk about a slim period between the machine being dated and then released, but that is the case here as PlayStation Australia have announced that the Slim version of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will be in stores in Australia on December 6th.

There are two models, one comes with the disc drive included, the other is the digital edition but a standard alone drive can be added in the future. The RRPs for both models are below.

  • PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – $799.95 AUD

  • PS5 Digital Edition – $679.95 AUD

Pre-orders are available for the consoles now at most retailers.

In early 2024 a new series of colour covers is coming and will add Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver options. Pricing on those has not been provided at this stage.

For those who buy the digital edition console and want to upgrade to the disc edition, can add the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive to it. The RRP for that is $159.95, but there is no release date for it.

Finally there is a new vertical stand for both consoles, as well as the older models will be sold on its own for $49.95, no date for that has been provided though.
