Gamers can expect the PlayStation 5 this November

During the recent PlayStation 5 Showcase, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the PlayStation 5 would be releasing on November 12, two days after the Xbox Series X.

“Since we first announced our next generation console last year, we have received astounding support from developers and gaming fans all around the world, and it’s truly humbling,” said Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “Now we are just a couple of months away from launching PS5, which will offer a new generation of experiences that go beyond players’ expectations of how games can look, feel, sound, and play. We can’t wait for our fans to experience for themselves the incredible speed, the heightened immersion and the breathtaking games on PS5 when we launch this November.”

Local pricing has now been confirmed and the PlayStation 5 will release here for $749.95 for the full release and $599.95 for the Digital Edition, that is the one without a disc drive. Though the question should be raised, does a blu ray disc drive really cost $150?

Interestingly, the console is launching in only a handful of markets on the 12th, the rest of the world needs to wait until the 19th. Those getting it on the 12th are Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Canada and the USA.
