Phantom: Covert Ops scores a big name for its big bad

nDreams and Oculus Studios have released a new trailer for the upcoming Phantom: Covert Ops VR game, which is coming in June to both Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest, showing off the games villain, which stars David Hayter as the big bad, in General Nikolai Zhurov.

Set in a Cold War naval installation on the coast of the Black Sea in 1991, Phantom: Covert Ops sees players infiltrating the secret navy base and matching wits against the disgraced ex-Soviet General Zhurov (Hayter), whose sole goal is to change the outcome of the Cold War at any cost.

“Phantom: Covert Ops is a ground-breaking next-level VR game and one of the finest stealth games I’ve ever seen or been part of,” commented Hayter. “Without doubt, virtual reality brings a new level of immersion to gaming and to be a part of that was incredibly exciting.”

“Having someone of David’s calibre portray one of the main characters in the game speaks volumes about what we’re trying to achieve with Phantom,” said Tom Gillo, VP of Development at nDreams. “Oculus headset owners and fans of stealth games like Metal Gear Solid, will leap at the chance to take on this villain!”

The game is set to release on June 25, so plenty of time to hunt down one of the compatible headsets
