Nintendo has revealed more Virtual Boy details, including the launch line up

Nintendo have revealed more details about the upcoming Virtual Boy addition to Nintendo Classcs next month, including new colour options beyond red.

The first big news is the line up of games that players will be able to enjoy at launch, they are:

  • Teleroboxer™

  • Galactic Pinball™

  • RED ALARM

  • GOLF

  • Virtual Boy™ Wario Land™

  • 3-D TETRIS®

  • The Mansion of Innsmouth

That last game was released in Japan, but never got released outside of Japan, making this the first time it will be available to everyone.

In addition to the games, they also confirmed that yes you will be able to rewind the games if you need to, which is pretty standard in the Nintendo Classics line. You will also be able to change the controls as well, ensuring you can fit the game to suit your preferred layout.

There are more games coming after launch, though as you might expected there is no release date for any of them. These are the games coming later:

  • Mario Clash

  • Mario’s Tennis

  • Jack Bros.

  • SPACE INVADERS VIRTUAL COLLECTION

  • VERTICAL FORCE

  • Virtual Bowling

  • V-TETRIS

  • ZERO RACERS (previously unreleased)

  • D-HOPPER (previously unreleased)

As you can see, those two final releases are marked as previously unreleased, were just that. This means players will get to enjoy the games for the first time ever.

The big thing is that later in the year, you will be able to swap out the red for yellow, green and monochrome. In order to switch off from the red look, it will require you to have the expensive headset option, as this won’t work with the cardboard one. As you see in the video above, it requires you to remove a red filter from the unit.
