New details revealed for Marvel's Avengers
Overnight, Square Enix revealed the first War Table, the first in a series of presentations for Marvel’s Avengers and they kicked it off, with a reveal that AIM, is more of a threat than people thought, with Brainiac and MODOK leading things, check it out.
That is the single player story, but if you want team based goods, then the War Zones are for you, as this is where you and some friends can join together and take down some Avengers level threats. In a nice touch, you can tackle these missions solo, and they will scale in size, so the more folks you have the more enemies you have to fight. Check out the trailer for this mode below.
One of the biggest elements of the game, is that you can customise your hero and depending on the gear you pick, you will get different abilities and skills. Each hero has access to the dynamic combo system, Heroic moves, an intrinsic ability, and signature move sets to unlock and customize – many inspired by classic moves from the 80 years of history in all media, others crafted as originals just for this game.
Players also customize these iconic Superheroes with classic, fan-favorite, and all-new original outfits inspired by over 80-years of Marvel history, including Iron Man’s suit from the 2014 Original Sin storyline, or Thor’s Donald Blake identity, which is a nod to an alias of Thor’s who first appeared in 1962’s Journey into Mystery issue 83.
At this point, you really do need to watch the stream, which you can do below, as it is 25 minutes packed with good information. The game is launching on September 4 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, with releases coming to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, when those consoles release.
