Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will let guests choose the destination

At SXSW 2025, we learnt that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was getting new locations in 2026 when the ride is updated, but we have now learnt that riders will get to choose.
The original ride, which you can still ride today, has guests take flight on the same mission each time you ride, the only difference is the position you might sit in. But starting on May 22, 2026, the same day that the new Mandalorian & Grogu movie releases in America, guests will get to choose.
In this new thrilling storyline, Hondo Ohnaka has gotten wind of a deal going down on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and a band of pirates. There’s a generous bounty for their capture, so you’ll borrow the iconic ship and team up with Mando and Grogu to track them down and explore the galaxy.
The ride will start on Tatooine, but once guests blast off, it will be up to the Engineers, to decide on where they fly to next. Another new gameplay addition allows the engineer positions to communicate with Grogu during the mission.
Revealed back at SXSW it was confirmed that Bespin would be one of the new destinations, you can see it below.
The other previously confirmed location was the wreckage of the second Death Star around the forest moon of Endor
The newly announced location at Star Wars Celebration was that of Coruscant, which you can see below.
These new additions should honestly make for a great ride, because while the ride is fun now, if you are not the pilot or a gunner, you are just sort of left watching and occasionally pressing a button. As someone who has been put into the engineer position more times than I can count, I think this is a great update to the ride.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is available to ride inside of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Disneyland Park in Anaheim and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando.
