Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be ready to fight this August
In the recent State of Play, Arc System Works were on hand with a new trailer for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, revealing more X-Men were coming to the fight, along with the games August 6 release date. Check out the new trailer below.
Before we get to the characters coming to the game, we did learn more about the games story mode, or Episode Mode as they call it here. These stories were crafted in conjunction with Marvel and were done so specifically for the game. These stories put Marvel’s heroes and villains up against a new threat.
The stories will be presented in motion comic form, blending the USA style of comic that Marvel fans will know, with the Japanese style of manga, which has inspired many of the looks of these characters. Each will feature full voice acting, so you can just enjoy the story in a language you know, those are English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin.
We will have to wait a little while longer to get a proper look at that, but it should not be too much longer now.
The trailer also confirmed that the game will offer 20 playable characters, we have known about these characters so far:
Captain America
Iron Man
Spider-Man
Doctor Doom
Storm
Ms. Marvel
Star-Lord
Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)
While Storm was featured in the new trailer, she has been confirmed since the games reveal, her inclusion here is more story related as the X-Men have suffered a defeat and Storm has created a new team to fight back against this new threat. The team is called the Unbreakable X-Men.
Magik
A highly skilled young mutant, Magik wields both magic and a sword in the Soulsword she created herself.
Wolverine
Battle-scarred but unbroken, Wolverine slashes foes alongside the X-Men with his Adamantium claws.
Danger
Once the A.I. of the Danger Room used to train the X-Men, Danger has now gained autonomy and taken a physical form.
With these three additional fighters, that gives us another 9 still remaining to be revealed, with more obscure cuts like Magik and Danger, there is no telling which random character might appear. Who do you want to see added?

The game also confirmed its various offerings, with three ways to get the game. Anyone who pre-orders the game will get some lobby items, an Infinity Gauntlet, Cosmic Surfboard and Baby Groot. Here are those details for each edition:
