Kena: Scars of Kosmora has been revealed and is coming this year

Ember Labs were the kick-off developer for the recent State of Play, with the reveal of Kena: Scars of Kosmora, the next chapter in the story of Kena, who is now older and maybe just a little wiser. Check out the reveal trailer for the game below.

In Kena: Scars of Kosmora, Kena is older and renowned as a Spirit Guide. In hopes of finding answers to the affliction she has endured all her life, Kena travels to the mysterious island of Kosmora. Home to distinct cultures and regions, Kosmora is full of buried secrets from a tragic past.

The island of Kosmora looks very nice, but there is a power spirit there which does the unthinkable to Kena, it shatters her staff. While not only looking cool, it also is the most important tool for anyone who works with spirits, but for Kena it was even worse as the staff was keeping her alive. Now she must discover, understand and accept Kosmora’s long forgotten way of guiding spirits, which uses alchemy to manipulate the power of the elements.

This is not just summoning water from a river, but rather working with elemental companions, like the little fox creature we see in the trailer. As they grow alongside your journey, they will unlock new powers, allowing Kena to do even more. There are multiple spirits to discover, with only the single one showed off so far, and each spirit will have their own element.

The game is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC later this year.
