Logitech have announced the new G325 Wireless Gaming Headset

Logitech G have revealed the next addition to their G gaming headset series, the G325, which is not to be confused with the G321 which came out last year and we reviewed then. So, apart from a slightly different number, what is different about this new headset, turns out, quite a bit.

Now if you were to compare the G325 against the G321, you might spot one very noticeable difference right away, the lack of an exposed microphone. On the G321 it was a boom arm mic, that you could lower down for use and raise up for mute, now the mic is built into both sides of the headset. The buttons are mostly the same as the last model, but actual look of the headset is quite a bit different here as opposed to former. The former had the ear cups connect to the headband via a y bracket, this is one solid piece.

We want all gamers to have premium experiences. That’s why we packed so much into the new G325 headset. It’s got a super comfortable design, long battery life, great audio, and works across PC, console, and mobile. It’s designed for gamers who love to play across a variety of platforms.

The headband is also much thicker, at least as far as the padding goes. On the G321 it is more like a mesh band, sort of like how you see on those fancy office chairs, here though it is a thick memory foam, just like on the ear cups. The comfort from the G321 is amazing, so if the headband is just as soft on the G325, this could be the headset for comfort going forward.

As I said before, the only major change tot eh ear cups is the microphone now being internal. That was not the only change they did for that, as it was also tested in a few thousand environments, at least simulated, and when the team thought they had the right levels needed, they took the actual units into the real world to ensure all was working as designed. You might think that all that extra internal support would make things heavier, you would be right as the new headset is now 212g, up from the 206g that I weighted the G321 at last year.

Ok, so that is a little weird, 6g is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but the extra weight will likely be to the larger battery, as the G325 sports a battery that supports over 24 hours, when connecting through the lightspeed connection that Logitech use. For comparison the G321 is 20 hours, so I would happily take the extra weight for a longer use case. For those who use Bluetooth, it also supports that as well, so you can go from PC to Switch 2 or Mobile, with the press of a button.

Now you might be thinking that the headset is nothing more than a slightly modified one, just with more battery and Logitech could have stopped there, but they didn’t, as the new G325 also sports 24-bit audio. This means that what players will hear will be richer in all aspects, that is high and low tones, bass and beyond.

As you can see below the headset will come in the standard black, which the G321 is also available in. But now in addition to that, the headset also comes in a grey colour and a lavender, giving you more options, so your headset can match your style.

For those who want it, you can also use the Logitech G desktop program or the mobile app, to tweak almost all the settings of the audio levels to suit what you want. That means selecting a pre-set for FPS gaming, or making one for that random game you love that no one else has ever heard of. You can also enable the headset to turn off if it goes more than 15 minutes without any audio playing through it, perfect for those times you crash after a marathon gaming session. You can also swap it from 15 to another time, if you don’t want to wait that long.

Now you might be asking when you can get your ears on this, well it won’t be that long of a wait as the headset will be out later this month. The RRP is $199.95, which is not to much, given the amount of tech you are getting. The headset being constructed with memory foam is a great reason to check it out. For context the G321 has a RRP $129.95.
