Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will release this August

After being radio silent for a number of months now, Square Enix have announce that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will release on August 27 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android, though the mobile versions might change their dates.

The game is set in a land threatened by a deeply poisonous gas called Miasma. You play as a young hero who, with a Moogle companion or along with up to three other friends, travels the world in search of the rare and valuable liquid myrrh. With this precious resource, they’ll be able to cleanse and maintain a crystal that protects the land and its people.

The Remastered Edition of the game comes with enhanced features and even entirely new content. The visuals have been upgraded, bringing the game’s world and inhabitants to modern systems in glorious HD. Audio’s been improved too, with new voiceovers that bring these memorable characters to life like never before.

Finally, the game will feature online multiplayer, no more GameBoy Advance required and with the addition of online multiplayer, comes cross-play.

The game will also add in a brand-new ‘Mimic’ feature, which will allow players to take the form of various characters they meet on their journey. By collecting stamps and visiting Moogle Houses, or completing difficult dungeons, players will acquire unique crystals which will allow them to change their appearance, into other characters from the game.
