Company of Heroes Collection finally gets online multiplayer on Switch

Feral Interactive have announced that after almost 2 years, the Nintendo Switch release of Company of Heroes Collection finally has online multiplayer, after it released into the mobile versions of the game.
There are two big updates with this new online addition, the first is the online skirmish mode. Here, players can battle it out in fast-moving battles for up to four players. In the battle for Normandy, players must pick between the US Army and British 2nd Army representing the Allies, or the Axis forces’ German Wehrmacht and German Panzer Elite, with each faction offering unique unit rosters and abilities
The second part of the update is that the game now offers cross-play with the iOS and Android versions of the game. You can opt to play only against Switch or any combination of platforms. There is a catch however, apart from needing Nintendo Switch Online that is, in order to play online, you must own both the Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor expansions. For those on Nintendo Switch, those expansions are included, but mobile players need to buy them.
The game launched onto Nintendo Switch back in October 2023, so it has certainly taken a while. Even without the online multiplayer there was a lot of fun to be had in the game, but the multiplayer is a nice addition to have.
