Battlefield reveals more about the games destruction, via the latest dev update

Battlefield lead developer DICE have released a new update about the next game in the series, and it is all about destruction.
The update, along with others of their kind, were revealed via the games official website, so you can check that to stay up to do date on things. The new update also included a brief piece of footage from the developers, just be aware that it is in Alpha, so a lot of things like textures are not all present.
As you can see from the footage above, destruction has been kicked up a notch this time around and that is always a good thing. But it is important to remember that blowing a hole in a building to escape into, also means people can follow you, because when you take out something, other people can do the same.
Something that they have announced for this new update, is that even things like bullets will help contribute to a surface’s structural stability. Yes grenades, rocket and other explosives will be quickest at bringing things down, but if you have only some guns, that might still do the trick, if the wall is already on its way.
The big change that I can’t wait to see impact matches is that the rubble remains. In past games, if you blew up a building and brought it down, it would often leave a void or a shell, where it once stood. Now though, all the walls and beams that come down from your destructive behaviour will remain on the battlefield. That means by taking down a wall, you can also create a pile of rubble you can hide behind, it won’t be quite instant cover, but it will help.
The Battlefield Labs program is still on going and the developer are working with invited players to learn all they can about what they are up. After how badly fans reacted to Battlefield 2042 at release, it is no surprise that the developers want to get things right this time.
Now as for a release date, that is still not know, but Electronic Arts have confirmed that the game is going to release before the end of their current fiscal year, which means March 31st 2026. Beyond that, there is no date.
