Battlefield 6 is extending Season 1 giving more time for Season 2 to be ready

Overnight, Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios revealed that the first season of Battlefield 6 and REDSEC would be extended, giving players more time to enjoy the offerings. The reason why, to ensure that Season 2 address as much of the player feedback that the team can. Players won’t just be stuck recycling the Season 1 content for another 4 weeks as they are also expanding Season 1.

Right, let’s get this out of the way now, Season 2 will now begin on February 17, which means that Season 1 will now run until that time. The Season 1 extension update to Battlefield 6 and REDSEC will be released on January 20, which will include new weekly challenges, a Bonus Path, and a continuation of the Season 1 Battle Pass until the start date of Season 2.

Available January 27, the Frostfire Bonus Path lets players earn free and premium cosmetic and XP rewards by progressing through its tiers. Premium rewards require the Season 1 Battle Pass. Free rewards include a Hardware XP Boost, a Vehicle Skin, and playercard customization items. Battle Pass owners also get a Weapon Package, a Career XP Boost, and extra customization items.

The Frostfire Bonus Path can be completed at the same time as the Season 1 Battle Pass. You don't have to pick between a Battle Pass Path (like Rogue Ops or Soldiers of Fortune) and the Frostfire Bonus Path. Each Bonus Path tier needs 10 Bonus Path Points, and 110 points are needed to finish the path. All points for Frostfire are earned from Weekly Challenges; there are no Bonus Challenges.

As always, the games official page will have all the patch notes once the game does go live, so be sure to head there to see what is changing. We reviewed the games single player and multiplayer when it launched and even took a good look at season 1 ahead of its release last year, needless to say we are big fans of it all.
