Astroneer: Megatech is expanding the game this November
Devolver Digital and System Era Softworks have announced that this November will see Astroneer expand once again with the new expansion Megatech. This follows on from the games first expansion last year, but this one has a few game changing additions. Check out the reveal trailer for it below.
The major reason to pick up Megatech is that it will add in the ability to create massive megastructures and then automate the transport of materials around the planet. Each megastructure will have its own identity and gameplay, so depending on which one you select first will give your game a unique twist.
That is the paid update, but for those players who won’t be getting it, there is also a free update. The free update will include new items and the ability to create a Megastructure that will allow automated interplanetary transportation. That means you will be able to move resources and technology between planets.
Both updates will work with existing saves, so you won’t need to start over to take advantage of the new features.
The update and expansion are arriving on the same day this November for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch and Xbox Series X|S. Glitchwalkers released last year on November 14, so the same date for this new expansion would be nice, but we will find out
