Xbox has announced that the zombie survival series State of Decay will continue when State of Decay 2 is released onto Xbox One and Windows 10 on May 22nd.

“Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with the State of Decay community and to foster deeper experiences with the franchise. We believe State of Decay 2 accomplishes this goal by immersing fans in the ultimate zombie survival fantasy, and we want to give more players the opportunity to join in and experience this unique game,” said Aaron Greenberg, General Manager of Games Marketing at Microsoft. “Whether you play as an Xbox Game Pass member, purchase the Standard Edition, or the Ultimate Edition to get early access and additional content, you get a great game and a larger community to play State of Decay 2 with.”

Those who pick up the Ultimate Edition of the game, will actually to begin their zombie surviving days a few days early, they will also score the two add-on packs Independence Pack and Daybreak Pack, available at a later release date.

The standard edition is priced at $49.95 and the ultimate edition is $69.95, but if you are a gamer with a budget, the game will also be included in the Xbox Game Pass the day it is released. It is also a part of the Xbox Game Anywhere program, if you take use of that.
