PlayStation VR is getting a redesign

PlayStation has announced that the PlayStation VR unit is getting a redesign, well more of a tweak really. Included in the new model is the ability to add headphones into the unit, rather than on their own, as well as a newer and thinner connection cable, back to the new design of the VR box.

The new processor unit is more impressive as it allows for the passthrough of HDR signals, something the original model did not allow, meaning those who have this, will no longer need to rewire their gaming setup when they swap between 4K HDR and PSVR.

More answers to the common questions have been added on the PlayStation Blog, but the biggest is about a release date, apart from its release in October in Japan, there is no word on when we will get it.
